Power Steering Rack Centering How critical ?

So recently I swapped my front subframe bushings and had to remove the steering rack. When i put it back on the steering wheel was towards the right when the car is going straight. So i removed the steering wheel and turned it one notch on the spline, and its just a tiny bit to the right. I got...

    poly subframe bushings kit

I bought a set , they dont come with grease, so I used Superlube /syncolon synthetic grease on the insides, no grease on the upper and lower surface because I want the poly to grip the unibody tight. Can't answer you about the black density.

Torquing Front and Rear lower shock eyelet

Regarding these steps, do these need to be torqued with the car at rest with the wheels on, because the TSRM does not show it. If we can torque with the wheels off, how exactly do the bushing eyelets work? They don't actually grab on to the knuckles?

    Rear Subframe Bushings oddities

Ok i removed the washers, it seems the 2 washers at the rear are deformed ! Now they are nice snug and tight, no way the subframe will move. However the clunking is still there. It happens whenever the car isnt moving and i put it from N to D. It also happens when I let off the gas abruptly...

    Rear Subframe Bushings oddities

So today I managed to install the bushings. I figured I should add a stainless steel washer to spread the load from the center collars. So I torqued all the bushings up and went for a test drive. I felt something was off. It felt like the subframe was shifting everytime i shifted from N to D...

Front subframe bushings tigthening sequence /method

Its finally in since last week, but the only thing i disagree about his front bushings is reusing the old top hats. There should be new poly tops made, like other makes such as strongflex. The upper bushes should be a little thicker and there should be a metal washer to spread the load. I find...

    Rear Subframe Bushings oddities

Looks like i was wrong, i used my pushing jig to get the bushings out and I placed a wood ruler above the rear bushing hole top surface on the subframe, and insert the caliper tail from the bottom, indeed the rear is also 65mm, NOT 58mm as I said earlier, I had difficulty measuring that area...

    Rear Subframe Bushings oddities

I am in the midst of installing the rear RonnieK subframe bushings and found something odd. The thickness of the rear 2 bushing mounts vs the 4 front bushing mounts are very different. The front 4 and the rear 2 If the subframe thickness is not the same , why are all the 6 bushings the same...

Front subframe bushings tigthening sequence /method

I placed the toyota jack with a piece of wood to support the front of the sump. when re installing the steering rack i needed to support the rear of the sump and remove the front sump jack otherwise it was blocking the rack. I say leave the engine in.

Front subframe bushings tigthening sequence /method

I made the mistake of allowing the subframe to go down all the way to the floor. I should have placed something underneath the subframe to keep it lifted a few inches of the ground, that would help tremendously with sliding my standard jacks underneath to lift the subframe up when installing. ...

Front subframe bushings tigthening sequence /method

Hi guys. I am swapping out my stock subframe bushings that has hardened and sagged with a set of Ronnie K softest bushings. Right now I am facing an issue where the only one original rubber top hat is making contact with the subframe "lip" but the rest of the 3 rubber top hat is not touching the...
