IJ when you say 'snout' Are you talking about the section of the output shaft that sits inside the input shaft on a needle roller bearing? I didn't measure this :S
black89t its interesting you say that, I've worked with several different fwd transaxles and a few tremecs before too.. I don't think *anyone* can go ripping into their gearbox, but rebuilding them isn't exactly a dark art either. Maybe it only is when it concerns r154s :icon_razz
Hmm, the noises your gearbox was making before the meltdown have intrigued me.. My freshly rebuilt r154 (sychno's, bearings, thrust washer and donor 1st gear/clutch hub) also has a whine, though it's A LOT quieter than before the build.. and there is also a faint, but noticeable knocking noise...

I am unsure what compound is used on the clutch disk I have, it's an ACT 6240607 which is their sprung centre 6 puck disk. How will it...
Hey guys,
If any of you out there are in the process of rebuilding your r154, while your doing it do you mind getting a couple of measurements for me?
I'm trying to confirm whether or not the 1st gear and corrisponding clutch hub are identical across all r154's
Toyota spares said they...
