It's kind of off-topic, but as a paint contractor, I have figured out the best way to stop them, (taggers) is to take care of the vandalism asap. Even if they come back and do it again, as soon as you see it, paint over it. They will eventually get bored and move on. Lol, last week I was working on a tire store and happened to notice some punk kid pull out a marker and start writing something on the light pole of the taco bell. I grabbed him by the shirt and handed him a rag soaked in lacquer thinner and made him wash it off, then I took his marker. It felt good .

i'm bad, i'm nationwide
urban tagging sucks

but what i really hate is the religious tagging i see on the bathroom walls in evry truckstop i go to.

there is some humor i guess, in seeing "jesus saves" written right next to for "bj call brandy 222-333-4444"

There are a few products out there that you coat a surface in and it makes easy removal of the tagging...

One is basicly wax that is sprayed on. Someone paints on it, take a pressurewasher to it and it takes the wax off with the paint. Spray it with the wax again and go about your merry way...

Tagging is lame... I have however seen wonderful artwork.
me and a group of friends used to make artwork under a bridge locally. i wasn't the most talented at it, so i did some small things, but some of my friends could pull off wonderful artwork.

I like commissioned graffiti, artists who actually put time and talent into their work. Have you seen the music video John mayer - Waiting On The World To Change? Like that.

It can be categorized in a couple of different ways.

1. If it's just on someone's fence down the street, I think it is a total lack of respect for one's property which pisses me off. :3d_frown:

2. If it was simply for a display of art then it CAN be ok but only in the right place.

You really are a n00b arent you? It's called common decency and being a responsible citizen - if you see someone being beat up, do you intervene and save a life, or do you walk on by mumbling 'not my job...'?

You rank a lightpole as high as a human? If I see a kid tagging something Im not going to go grab him. Im not a cop so its not my job no, If it upsets me enough I would call the cops(not 911).

What next, you walk by some kids cursing so you grab them to straighten'em out? Maybe see some kids smoking so you should grab them and make them eat the cigarette?

You cant go around touching people because you dont like what they are doing. If its to protect someone elses life then yes, other wise call the authorities and dont get involved. Hall monitors ended in grade school, hang up your sash.

i personally think it depends on what it was and where it was placed, going up the mountains there is some pretty nice graffiti on the concrete barriers, its a work of art.. but as mentioned before something on someones fence or garage or whatever is disrespectful.

Smoking and cursing aren't crimes. Tagging is. Yes, if I see someone vandalizing someone's property, I am going to put a stop to it. So, if I came by your place with a spray can, you wouldn't do anything? I know, it's different cause it's your place. Of course you would do something. You can't rely on the cops to stop what they are doing to go chase a crime that will be over by the time you dial the first number. I feel bad for your neighbors.
