Smoking and cursing aren't crimes. Tagging is. Yes, if I see someone vandalizing someone's property, I am going to put a stop to it. So, if I came by your place with a spray can, you wouldn't do anything? I know, it's different cause it's your place. Of course you would do something. You can't rely on the cops to stop what they are doing to go chase a crime that will be over by the time you dial the first number. I feel bad for your neighbors.

Well just remember the risk your taking when putting your hands on someones kid. Some graffiti might not be worth an angry parent suddenly in your face. Add a gun or a good lawyer into that and your life is seriously impacted, over a lightpole being tagged.

Lol, if an angry parent is suddenly in my face after I stop their punk kid from disrespectfully defacing someone's personal property, then I am going to assume they saw the entire thing. And if they are mad at me for forcing their kid to clean it up, they need a good parenting lesson.
BTW, I am a reserve police officer. And I'm not trying to come across to you as a dick. I grabbed him so he wouldn't run away like his buddies. He cleaned it up, I took his marker, and I let him go. It's not like I slapped him around or anything, though he probably needs a good one.

Didn't you say you would shoot anyone that touched your nieces and/or nephew for any reason. It sounds like you are the one going to throw your life away for a light pole.

I think we can respectfully agree to disagree.;)

you have the right to put people under citizen's arrest as well...

damn sheeple
Washington State does not have a specific statute granting citizen's arrest powers. However there has been several state court decisions rendered that affirm and uphold common law citizen's arrest power for (a) felonies committed in the presence of the person making the arrest or (b) misdemeanors committed in the presence of the person making the arrest provided the misdemeanor also constituted a breach of the peace. Unfortunately, tagging doesn't fall under those guidelines.

You would honestly condone your own kid doing something illegal and somebody else trying to stop it? If your getting your ass beat in a fight, and people are just walking by doing nothing, wouldnt you be pissed? but if somebody jumped in and round house kicked them all you would be appreciative.

And i understand the "tagging" thing... but the problem is that so many punk ass kids do it for NO reason... who cares if you can scribble a bunch of crap on an underpass... or in a bathroom where i take a piss, why not put that so called "talent" to good use and make real art, make a mural or something, do something productive with your skills. Hell, go make some t-shirts that say random stuff.... but tagging a pole? wtf is that...

Tagging is done by idiots who don't own shit and never will, so they don't have respect for anyone else's stuff. How can you "claim" a certain street or city when you don't own anything in it?

I got stuck at a train crossing and realized I dont mind the graffiti on the rail cars. I mean it gave me something to look at while the train was going by.

As far as tagging in general Im up in the air over the whole idea. I can see it fromt both sides I guess. The idea of tagging a rail car or subway wall or whatever else gets tons of people to see what you did. Its just that second of fame and glamore people are after.

Above all you shouldnt disrespect anyones private property though. Rail cars, subway wall and all that isnt as big of a deal to me.
