It would have to at least just have a pipe that ran from the front to a rear muffler that just moved air and had like a valve that opened variably or something, for me to buy one, haha. The sound is one of the main reasons I love cars.

"I too like the sound of an engine, no electric whine, thus I want one of these."
it isnt a whine, it is like the sound of constant turbocharging. "wheeee..."

Impressive... unless you take my point of view that the electric car is just bare minimum structure with no options. It is an engine on wheels hence more traction and lighter weight. Sure electric is the future, but this comparison was made for nothing more then shock value... for a real gasoline equivolent to that electric car... go F1 or go home

Very cool car. The limit at 112mph is a shame, but still enough to have some fun with.

Wow, $40K just for the batteries. :aigo:

sure, that electric car is bare minimum, but there are others that are all out. doe example, the tesla is a total sports car that does 0-60 in ~4 seconds.

that weeeee sound will be dampened in the future, and maybe erased.
you could put in fake engine sounds if you wanted.

I would have to agree with Anomili that, at least in the video, you are racing an F1 electric car against i'm guessing 3000lb luxury exotics. No doubt that its quick as hell and capable of making power tho.

You missed the point guys.. :aigo: That is the first of it's generation/kind (production electric race car) and it whooped the best we have refined over the last 100 years. Only 1 other production super car can (barely) beat it, and it was a 1000hp monster running @ 8mpg of gas and costing 1.25 million dollars to make for 1/10th the price................

Give it a year and I bet they beat it also....:icon_razz

that is such an excellent point, and a point that must be acknowledged.

once the demand is present for electric cars, batteries' capacity and peak output will boom.

remember the computer tech boom? when there was finally widespread demand for computers the technolgy skyrocketed at incredible rates.

this is only the beginning, and with fairly primitive technology it is already beating gas-powered's best. combustion is an out-dated technology, kind of like VHS or dial-up internet, but since it is harder to phase out, it still exists. time for a change!

get ready for some crazy speed and cornering in the next 15-20 years.

Thanks Bonus12: Every one needs to also remember/realize that as this tech gets released to the average person and they accept it, That will mean less demand on oil, so the price of gasoline will go down. (supply and demand 101)

So you can still drive your supra or whatever gas car for less money at the pump!!!!

Embrace it. DEMAND IT!!!! :)
