This is totally crazy, I was just thinking of a stroker kit!! I have been working with a few 2jz customers and their stroker kits pushing serious power and was wondering if we could get something going for the 7m.. Are there kits out there now??

If you guys are interested I could try and get something going... ideas?
like i said... i would %100 for sure buy a de-stroker kit, if someone would make one, something like a 2.8 litre, i'd be highly interested in, anything that would put the stroke at or below 86mm

Reason is that the mkiii folk in general are cheap. They want JDM motors because they are "cheap" (ie $1000), but gasp at you when you advise them to rebuild the 7m for $1500. What they don't see, new v used.

+28 for that one.

In a nutshell, a bowtie or blue oval on the hood.

Toyota made one. Called a 5m. 5m crank, pauter 5m rods. Main issue is figuring out what to do about a balancer, since the nose of the 5m crank is different.

never heard of that being used^^^ i'll have to look into it, but how good is the 5m crank?

Just as good as the 7m AFAIK. I know Ill be corrected many times over if Im wrong, but I do believe the hks drag mk3 back in the day was running a 5m crank.

Correction: It used a custom Callies crank. Probably nearly the same as a 5m(stroke-wise).....But forged 4340 and probably with a 7m snout. And a ton more expensive. I plan on looking into one once i blow up this one :)
