I've been looking at Torque wrenches and I was going to buy a Craftsman at my work (Sears) tomorrow. It's a 1/2" drive adjustable from 25-150ft/lbs. for $75

So I was searching around online doing some pricematching with Snap-on and other brands. When I decided to search Ebay.

Alot of these "no-name" wrenches seem much too cheap to be accurate or reliable
Anyone ever seen/heard of these? How many of you would trust this to be accurate?

I'll probably go with the Craftsman as it is a trusted name, and I get a discount on it anyway. Just thought I would see the opinions of you guys. even though I'll probably get flamed with "You're an idiot for looking at those" lol.

I know I know. But I get a 25% discount on Craftsman.
But I believe when I start school (UTI) I get 50% off Snap-on. Maybe I'll steal my friends torque wrench and wait a month to get the Snap-On...

Didnt you read, Its the best.

I'd give it a shot. If it is garbage its got a 30 day warranty. So test it out and if it sucks send it back.

I would. But I don't want to use it to torque something important as say... My headgasket, or valve covers... I don't want it to be a POS and have it say "75ft/lbs." but down the road(
literally) find out it was only torqueing to 60ft./lbs. or something

UTI's snap on discount isnt quite 50% thats just another piece of the bullshit that the recruiters feed you. It is a decent discount on most of the stuff but not quite 50% so dont get ur hopes up. Also, auto parts arent half off either thats another lie the recruiter told me. ( you do get a 15-30% discount on parts though depending on the deals they work out with the local parts stores) But yeah, when you get a look at how much the snap on stuff costs, even with the discounts, youll probably opt for husky anyway haha

my craftsman has held up relatively well; i cant complain. still, look for a used snap on or craftsman on ebay and return it to the store for a new one under the lifetime warranty.

Yea that doesn't suprise me... I am less and less enthused about going there with everything I hear about it lately. All they do is feed you bullshit to get you in it seems.
