I don't think she could reliably do the 197 foot pounds for the main pulley bolt. 
I have a Craftsman, it's been good to me. Craftsman doesn't have a lifetime warrantee anymore on torque wrenches though, it's 1 or 2 years now, and no grandfather clause for us oldschool guys, either.
You can usually get your wrench tested for accuracy, and many of them can be adjusted to get them back into spec.

I have one for each application. The shock load prevents stripping. And I haven't ever heard or seen any shortblock damage from using one.

I agree. We always have used a huge 1" drive impact for that bolt. Makes life a lot easier and you don't have to hurt yourself getting it on and off.
I've had my 1/2 drive craftsman wrench for about 8 years now. It's been good to me. 4 years ago I had it calibrated at my workplace. I was standing there when the guy did it. He said it was spot on.
I've had a 3/8 craftsman die on me forwahtever reason. Something broke inside. I could have sent it away for $40, or bought a new one for $48. I bought a new one.
I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a calibration tool for a torque wrench. Wonder what those run...
