GO TO POST #23 FOR NEW PLAN/CURRENT JZ RELATED PROGRESS
Alright guys, so this is my second time at the Supra game. I sold my first Supra (87.5 Targa Turbo, 5 Speed) in December of 2010 after moving to Chicago where I couldn't afford to have a car and go to school. Well some two odd years later I've become sick of this city and have decided to relocate with my girlfriend to the greater St. Louis area (Chesterfield to be exact). This meant I had to get a car since there really is no public transportation. In March I started working to Valet jobs downtown and eventually switched to the one where I made more money and racked up enough to snag another members Supra. It's funny because I looked EVERYWHERE but here and then one day was like you know what, f*ck it lets check supramania and then boom I found the perfect car within my price range only 2.5 hours from where I live. Snagged it within the next week, making this guy a proud supra owner once again :love::love::love::love::love::love::love:
I thus far have changed the oil, deleted the spoiler (still need to get plugs or a new hatch), and added clear corners.
Car as it sits: HKS Super Dragger 3" exhaust, 3" test pipe, 3" downpipe with elbow, Greddy Profec-B @11psi, Blitz DTTIntake, Bosch Diverter Valve, C's short shifter, turbo blanket, and TRD shift knob anddd I think thats it? It's got a bad ass head unit too. Shes an 88 Targa Turbo, that has 95,600 on the clock. Two owners, never driven in snow, always garaged, had her on a lift recently and there is no rust at all (other than the silly test pipe :biglaugh
Pics :icon_bigg
My immediate plans for the car are to throw on some new wheels and tires (within the next week with wheels). I'm looking at 18" falkens (in pic above) or 17" 350z wheels. Current sawblades have 3% tread left so I need something new and if I can get new wheels with tires for the price of tires hey why not. I'd like the Falkens but I'm not sure they will fit, I'm gonna try tonight. I can get the Z wheels for a steal and sell them next spring and get something I actually like. Win-win in my book! As soon as I figure out how to install a catch can can I will be doing that as well. I think the one on Aaron's website would be more than adequate.
As soon as I get another job in St. Louis I'd like to play with it a litttttle bit more and drop it, do a new exhaust, and get a new IC core with hard pipes and a diff BOV. For the drop I'm probably just going to watch the classifieds for springs/shocks or coilovers, whichever is more convenient and best fits my budget I guess. For the muffler I have a 3" stainless megan-racing muffler (I know I'm going to get hounded for this) that I would like to put on. However if I do this I will unbolt the old system at the test pipe and fab a new one up, order all the bends, piping, and flanges myself and have a close friend weld it for me. The HKS just isn't my taste I guess, not a big fan of the stock looking tips and suitcase sized muffler, and I like to make things myself so it works out. My girlfriend is ordering me a new intercooler as well, probably DM's new same side kit, that or I will just get piping for the core that is sitting in my garage (the two bottom mounts might need to be re-tapped to use it I believe, I will post pictures soon). When doing this I will probably throw on a Turbo XS RFL valve because I'm one of those guys that likes their BOV to be loud.
Those are really my plans for the near future. Maybe next spring I will try to run a Lexus AFM and 550's but that would be it. I need to look into it but I'm curious as to how much work it would be to run it on E85 as well, and I need to check to see how many petrol stations in the STL have it as well. That would be it though for mods.
I will be putting pictures in soon so don't worry!
Anyway I got the car and first thing I did was install clear corners, then delete the spoiler because I IMO it looks more raw and clean. Pictures.
