why is my turbo so laggy?

started building boost @ 3krpm, but still didnt hit 9 psi till around 3800, but it doesnt really start pulling till after 4200.

That's better than it was doing...check your timing and compression like you said earlier. The WG is likely the issue in combo with the stock IC pipes restricting flow. Are you running the stock IC as well?

I'm also thinking you might be getting an intermittent code 52 that makes it worse. If you've done the rewire, check the grounds. Your SAFC should be seeing the knock sensors.

I posted links previously for the igniter ground...it's worthwhile to do. Check your CPS wiring/connector as well.

the compression test came out with 155 on #1 and the rest were right @ 160.
the timing was @ 10, i bumped it up to 13 this morning, that gave me that lil bit of quicker spool.

i've seen your ignitor ground write up before, i was always plannin on doin it, i'll have to get on that.

i havent done the re-wire on the knock sensor, but i'll check my SAFC wiring to make sure its in the right place. i know theres 2 knock sensors, do you know which one the SAFC reads from, and which wire that is near the ECU?

i am still running the stock IC as well. im ordering a new FMIC and piping on friday when i sell my springs and struts, also plan on gettin a better WG, any recommendations on which one to get? preferably one that will fit on my manifold flange (4 bolt hks 40-50mm style).

the CPS wiring i will double check, i redid it not too long ago since a couple wires were cracked right after the plug.

The ECU reads both knock sensors on the GTE motor...both feed into the same terminal (KNK).

The Tial 44mm WG is hard to beat, but you will have to have a HKS flange to V band adapter fab'ed up.

i know this is off topic but do any of you know where i can get the sealing plate for the hks wastegate? i looked on their site and didn't get anything. Good luck to you kotu, i have a precision sc6152e with a .68 hot side and the ebay manifold too. I have an authentic gate but no sealing plate...grrrrr.

no i didnt, its still not gettin full spool (10-12psi) in 1st 2nd gears till around 3800.
but with a load it will hit 10psi by 3350-3400
i in process if changing to MAFT pro, with the boost control capability, once i do that i'll updeate before i swap out wastegates, just to see what helped the most.

what are you pushing for boost? when do you hit full spool?

wg spring opens at 9.5 -10. depending on temp outside. ebc is around 14. im around 3000- 3500 full boost. (i think) the wg does seem to open very quick but hold boost just fine i have open dump so it gets very loud but i like it good luck with maft pro. i wanna go ms2 i think
