I love my eagles... :love: Pauters are nice, but I think Eagles are outstanding for 99% of the 7M builders power goals out there... If I was going for 900, 1000hp, I'd drop the coin on the Pauters... But Eagles are great for my needs...

SC read post #6.
Pauter=626 grams

Sorry, my bad. I meant to say does anyone have weights on the Eagles?

I don't have any rods on hand and I'd like to know the weight diff between the two.

gotta love those x-beams....

IJ can you elaborate more on the notching required for the pauters?
Jay: The Beams of the Pauters hit the bottom of the bores on a 7M (they come with a diagram explaining this)

I just used a Die Grinder with a stone to relieve the bore then smoothed it out with a polishing roll, takes about 3 minutes per hole as it's not a great deal of interference.

And as I said in a 7M if you're going to rev it hard the Aux shaft needs trimming down as mine was flexing enough to contact the rod at 8000+ sustained and this chattered the rod journal on #1 and #2... :(

Justin: IF the Eagles are resized and inspected and balanced correctly yes they should work fine ( Dennis over on SF posted his Eagle weights and they were all over the shop)

Pauters are like fillet steak whereas Eagles are a chop ;)

DK: Oil pump drive shaft.

Jay: Knew I had a pic showing the Block ;)

IJ, I like chops... Pork chops... Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!

I had mine checked too before going in: weight, balance and bore measurements... Everything checked out nice... He said all six were within one gram of each other, so that was nice...

I talked with Eagle the other day inquiring about what horsepower levels they felt their rods would hold. The Tech informed me that they were rated for 1500 hp and had been tested in a 7M to 900 hp repeatedly with no issues. I'm guessing this was done on an engine dyno, but he never clarified which. I have personally been a part of Eagle rods making 950 flywheel horsepower in a 565 big block Chevy we drag race, but this was naturally aspirated.
The Pauter's are very nice, quality pieces and are well worth the money.
