Beef is still around on SF, doesn't own a Supra anymoe though. Not sure about Paradox, and I'm not 100% sure on the reasons why IJ left, maybe someone else can fill you in on that. I seem to remember Murkat posting not that long ago, but I can't completly remember.

Beef doesn't own a Supra anymore, and as far as I know he never created an account here after the crash of 03.

Paradox was last here a couple of weeks ago.

Murkat's Supra was up for sale last time he was here, which was about six months ago. I think he finally sold it.

As for the IJ mess, i really had hoped we were past this... But since it appears we never will be until a definitive post is made, here's my explanation for that.

During a time when I was fairly overwhelmed with "real life" out here in the real world, IJ had a disagreement with another staff member. In my irritation and haste, I told both him and the other guy to "deal with it" because I didn't' have the time for their bullshit. In retrospect, that was a mistake, and I should have paid more attention to my staff, what was going on, etc... But real life will always win over this place. Sorry, I love SM, but...

Anyway, I digress...

For some reason my not immediately siding with him seemed to provide the motivation for IJ to delete many of his informative posts and go into "hiding" - he's still here, and he'll likely answer a PM if you send it to him. He's just widthdrawn his participation from the site. I find it uncalled for, and unfair to everyone, but hey, it's his life, and his time. He has no obligation to be here.

In general I believe (and this is opinon) that IJ wanted to changes the sites direction and since it didn't happen as fast as he wanted, he bailed. I believe we have changed this place for the better since that time.

If this is incorrect, IJ is more than welcome to correct my assessment.

I still to this day believe that IJ left this site when it needed him most...

Now thanks for picking open that old wound. Can we please move on to something else?

Yea IJ still answers his Pm as i PM him once in a while for information.

Im prolly going to get Flamed, but who exactly is Mike Urbano.
I joined the site right after his passing and i never really took the time to search what happened since i didn't know who he was or what he did for the community. I know he had a 1J-GTE as i read some article about him not knowing that was Mike.

If you dont wanna answer my question then just post me a link as to who he was etc.

Mike Urbano was probably one of the most helpful people to ever grace the Supra world. He was a good guy.

Back in June of 2005 Mike was sitting stopped at a red light on his motorcycle and was rear ended by a Suburban who was doing 40+ mph and didn't notice the red light. Needless to say, Mike didn't have a chance and died instantly.

That's one big reason I'd never buy a bike. That, and I'd probably kill myself watching the tach rev up to like 15k.

That's rough though, just one more reason to hate SUVs.

That is really sad...It sucks that I never got to meet him, I got into Supras only a couple of months after his passing...From what I hear he was a legend in Socal.

i know, i feel the same.
But why was he a legend?
What did he do specifically for the community.
I'm just wondering.

Aside from his willingness to help out any Supra guy, and his sharing of knowledge, he gave us cars like these:

Damn I didn't know that's what happened to Mike U....

I always stop close to the center/yellow line for just that reason, of course that's still no guarantee but I feel it improves my chances.
