neither are MKIII's if you ask a MKIV owner

I dunno, it looks a lot like a wingless MKIV (pop up wing at speed though) and the dimensions and bodylines are very similar (much along the lines of the C5 to C6 corvette changes)

supposed to be a 6 figure car, but it would be hilarious if they match the price point of a new vette and rape everything in sales...

Toyota has the money to pull such a thing off if they wanted to, and it would do their image a lot of good... (though the car snobs will think it's not expensive enough)

There is a MKIV on the track in front of it! LOL

It's an awesome looking car, hope it goes into production.

wouldn't you set a benchmark with the best vehicle you ever made?

I'm seriously gonna laugh my ass off if it comes out under the supra name...

companies have done worse...

not saying I'm hoping because it's "OMG A SUPRA" I just think it would be funny for the MKIV guys to be bumped down a notch...

How would it have no relation in succession? Toyota's last sports car was the Supra. They have not had a powerful car since for the single ideal of "sportyness"(to weed out the 5.7 liter Tundra), since it was discontnued in the late 90's to North america and 2002ish in Japan.

Loose relations yes, but as stated, this is not a supra

If by successor you mean Toyota's/Lexus next performance car since the death of the Supra, then I guess. But any comparison stops there and I don't agree with it anyway.

The Supra was a GT car. The LF-1 is a Supercar.

LF-1: The supercar inspired by the LF-A concept will arrive next spring. It is meant to celebrate Toyota's 70th anniversary as well as its Formula 1 presence, hence the "F-1" part of the name.

A V-10 engine, generating at least 500 hp, will deliver power to an all-wheel-drive setup. Expect an unveiling at the Tokyo motor show in October, if not at the Japan Formula 1 race in September.

The FT-HS concept would be a closer Supra

I see that side too, That is more of a super car in a sense it will compete with cheap Ferrari's and Gallardo's and some 911's and the Audi R8, but none the less, the lines between GT car and sports car and even super car is a thin one at least.

I just want to hear it rip around the track some more, what a nice exhaust note

Sports car, GT car, or otherwise, the LF-1 is in a class the Supra could only dream about. I'm not talking about 700hp+ big turbo Supras.

If you want to call any car a Supra

, the SC430 has been in production for quite a while and is more closely related to the Supra than an LF-1 or FT-HS concept.

but its such a piss poor shitty car, I like to overlook it.

And no, I'm not one of the people who consider a 700hp modified supra a supercar, its a supra with a stupid complex.
