There are those that know me personally on this forum. They know i have the worst car luck. People say they do too, they never met me. I've had 5 cars in 6 years. All with things gone terribly wrong with them, 99% of the time its just bad luck.

My latest supra has been hit twice in the same parking lot, once being yesterday. Tonight I hit a deer at 60MPH :3d_frown:. It was unavoidable Cars and tractor trailers were surrounding me and if i hit the brakes too hard the car behind me would've hit me (even with me laying off them a bit they only missed me by a few feet), I had to take the hit head on or it could have been A LOT worse. Thank god i told my GF to put her seatbelt on not 20min earlier. I just can't ever seem to get away from car problems.

Anybody else have an issue like this? IE, no matter what they do they always have bad luck with something imparticular??

Damn that blows.

I tend to have good luck with cars, cuz I drive like a grandma, lol. My friends always make fun of me for driving so "slow" under normal circumstances.

*Not saying you could've avoided anything by driving slower*

I have bad luck with.... haircuts?

cars. plain and simple. and i feel your pain my supra went up in flames to...i rebuiult it though...i didnt swap chasssis

i swapped engine, trans, driveshaft, body parts, nearly entire interior, and all engine components. It really made me sad to see it hit so often and towed away with smoke coming out of the engine (well really steam but still). Its very depressing as i got it on the road only about 6 months ago

Why anyone would drive in any seat in any car with no seat belt is beyond me. Yes, I'm a back-seat buckler and always have been. They don't put so much engineering into the safety restraints and airbag systems on cars just for shits and giggles.

Me too on the back seat buckler thing, amazing how many people run their mouth's about wearing a seatbelt, until they taste the wind shield/dashboard.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but I don't have bad luck. I'm a lucky person and refuse to acknowledge anything unlucky. I feel you create your own luck and I don't want to create any bad luck. I do a lot of gambling and I can't afford to give bad luck a second thought.
If a deer ran out in front of me, then I would mark it up as an excuse to paint my car, or to buy another one. If that sounds arrogant, I apologize because it's not meant to. It's just the facts. I would also say it was good luck that nobody but the deer was hurt.

Cars and mechanics.

My first car was in 2 accidents (both not my fault) and written off both times... First time we restored it, only to have another idiot run up the back of me 12 months later.

I then get my Supra, which was stolen from my underground secure lockup garage... Was found 3 weeks later missing alot of stuff... Got it back on the road, only to have issue after issue... Replaced the entire cooling system with brand new aftermarket parts, sent it to the mechanics to get a custom intake, exhaust and mapecu2 installed...

Fucking wankers didn't bleed the cooling system properly, then loaded it up on the dyno to tune, heard a miss and kept going.

Then they charged me $3500 for a bhg and an unexplainable miss.

EDIT - As of 2009, I am starting to change my way of thinking to be similar to Jay's.

It's not worth me dwelling on the bad stuff...

My sister had the exact same upbringing as myself, my brother, and my other sister. All you ever hear from her is "how unlucky she is, and how everything goes against her." Bullshit, she just doesn't try as hard as the rest of us to make positive things happen for herself. She'd rather lay around and feel sorry for herself and tell everyone why she can't do this or do that instead of trying to find a way to make it happen. It's a lot easier for everyone to make excuses than it is to get your ass off the couch and make something of yourself. She now has a great job, thanks to my other sister, and hopefully her self-deprecating ways wont' ambush this great opportunity.

Again, please dont' take this as arrogance. I choose to look at the glass full to the rim instead of half empty or half full. A little positive thinking goes a long ways.

Don't actually consider mine as bad luck(that's why I said "problem".)Seems to be only 1 local cop that hassled me,who has since been fired for various reasons.
That's a good way to look at things Jay.

Some times shit just happens jay. My fiance broke up with me this Thursday, and I also found out something else that makes me want to kill the person responsible. I can't do anything to change it, and there is nothing for me to look forward to as a positive.

Like I said, sometimes shit just happens.

Except that you found out she was on the fence before instead of after the wedding, and if it's worse than that guesstimate, then now you have one less fucked-morals person in your life. The first option sounds sucky now, but it's better for you in the long run, and the latter is better either way. So +&+

I know shit happens Mario, but that doesn't mean something better isn't going to happen because of the shit. If you're hanging your head down because of it, you may not be able to see the good things coming your way. I know losing your fiance must really hurt, but it had to happen for a reason. I wish you the best.

Yea i guess, BTW she isn't the one I want to kill. She has morals, and I'm glad she flew to the US to break it up with me. I know she is truly sorry, she tried to love me the way I loved her.

I will try to keep my head up jay, but right now I can't just ignore what has happened this last week.

Depending on how bad it is, how big of area I would suggest having coffee with them and discussing that you have changed. I talk to cops all the time and in general they are just doing their jobs. I was lucky not to get arrested the last 2 times I was pulled over.

As I've said before it's not what happens that is important it's how you handle it. Jay is almost as positive of a person as I am.:evil2:

Might be a good thing. Don't know the details.

I completely understand your way of thinking. And trust me, i've looked at the good in this situation. I needed that fendor replaced anyway, i needed other body work done etc etc. But it still happened and it sucks. And IMO as far as im concerned with cars themselves, im just not like other people, shit always tends to follow me, but i deal with it. I never take the easy way out. This car proves i don't just give up and dwell. I get my ass in gear and get it back on the road. But again, it still sucks becuase this stuff tends to happen to me more than anyone i know. Its worse because i KNOW how to take care of my cars more than most, yet im always the one without the car. Its very frustrating at times
