How low is your car? and how much camber are you running.
I have just installed Zeal coilovers and stock camber ,the car is still on jack stands. I plan on getting it align as soon as it hits the ground. Any sugestions.

Uhhhhh If you roll the fenders you can probably run a 275 or more. It all depends on height and camber though.. because I had 275/35/18 and -1.5 camber and there was only 1 finger gap between my tire and fender. That is with the tire tucked though. So it all depends.

Fitment expectations for...
Front - 18x9 +37mm offset
Rear - 18x10 +40mm offset

Tire size suggestions for a 'conservative' fit.
Thanks!

Fronts are good, the rears would be very close to the inside. I know the 18x10 +35 fit, not sure if the extra 5mm further in would cause clearance issues.

For tires, anything narrower than a 245 would have noticeable stretch on the 9" rim. The rears are dependent on ride height and whether they clear the shock.

dunno what you mean by conservative. 225 or 235 front. and between 255-275 rear
Not looking for a stretch or bubble, just a sidewall that is pretty much flush with the wheel.

Gotcha. so... 245 front 275 rear should do the job. can go up or down one width and it should be good still.
That is what I was suspecting.
Sometimes it's good to get a second (or third) confirming opinion.
Thanks!

ok, so all that said; anyone running MKIV tt's on the Front?

i just bolted on a set of rears that came off my friends car. they have 315's on them. Drag radials on the front feel kinda weird. also, the steering takes more effort than it did w/ 245's and 255's. the weird thing is, with my idle around 650rpm, the pump isnt moving enough fluid to make enough power steering assist. its kinda weird hearing pebbles and road crap getting kicked up into my front fenders.

it Does rub though, near full lock only. it looks pretty aggressive. i was loosing air in my GTU's so i threw on a pair of sawblades for the rear; my front tires are almost 100mm wider than the rear tires! for some reason, the passenger tire didnt rub the spring at full droop but the driver tire does. it must be how the spring coils are clocked on the vertical axis. but at stock ride height, theres ample room between the sidewall and the springs. i do beleive im rubbing on the sway bar, i havent yet poked my head under there to look.

id like to put my 18x10's back on the rear or get another set of tt rears.

I think I might be the only one getting a headache from reading all this..:(
All I want is some nice fitting 17x8 up front/17x10 in the rear but tire sizes, I DON'T KNOW!

haha. Hmmmmm It is really hard to say what fits. Because everyone has different alignments settings. But.. I say for the 17x8 +25 17x10 +40 Just a guess but you can probably go lower.

The reason I say this is because when I go through this thread, everyone sounds so knowledgeable. I don't know isht. I look at the size tires they have on certain websites and I just shake my head and come back to this thread and the cycle starts again. 225/45/17 wtf...I'm just thinking I will guess a tire size.lol

Oh tires.. hmmm for factory size.. something like 225/45/17 front. 275/35/17 rear. You can go up on side wall if you want though.

Honestly, I want the look of your car in the first thread. I'm poor and can't afford coilovers so I'm getting lowering springs but I want that look.

humm so would a 35+ fit better with the 19x9.5 or is it just the rim size thats the problem? i have konig crosshairs on it right now 18x8+35 all the way around with 235/40/18s but i want a more aggressive lip/stance in the rear?
