I would like to see some input from one or more of our SMEs on this one...

OK.

As has already been stated, AFM scaling is a dangerous thing. Why you ask? Because of the inverse fuel/timing relationship- less fuel (i.e. -20% on your SAFC) = MORE timing. In reality, much of the power benefit you see from "leaning things out" via the SAFC is really the HUGE jump in timing that goes along with it. The A70 was built relatively conservative timing, leaving you some room to play....but huge AFM correction are going to result in one thing: a blown engine.

The best way to tune w/a piggyback is to simply get as close as you can via adjusting fuel pressure and then make small AFM corrections.

without fuel management you are lucky to get much past 12, with an afm 18 or so and yes even 20ish

So far:

This to me,.. is the most sensible answer. I'm going with this answer. Thanks for the answer for going past factory F.C.: Piggy back, I already knew that answer. I'm gonna hook up my Greddy. Scaling back: not going there. 18 is my targeted P.S.I. but just short of my H.P. goal which is 400, I'm O.K with that, I'll be close I hope.
Gonna go this way I would think From "Dr Jones": The best way to tune w/a piggyback is to simply get as close as you can via adjusting fuel pressure and then make small AFM corrections.
