If you had a turbo auto with a 4.30 in it then it was not the original diff. N/A cars without the sport package did not have LSD (although I believe it was an option seperately some years). LSD was standard on turbo cars.

And slightly brushing off subject, but for you 5 speed fellers, It is an UPGRADE to get 4.30's (in your Turbo Model, of course;)) if you want a fast 1/4 mile car.

If anyone ever tells you that 4.30's are spin-city and can't hook up, smack them in the face. They obviously aren't smart enough to get sticky tires and such. 4.30's have shorter gears, which, inturn, would make your top-end a bit shorter, but as for acceleration, if you can shift well, will up your quarter mile times by as much as a second even.

:EDIT: Yeah, 4.30's don't come stock in AT Turbo's.

His information is not debatable. This is what it is for US cars. All 7MGE's came stock with the 4.30.

The 7MGTE came with 3.91, and in 89 was switched to 3.73.

The transmission has no bearing on rear axle.

rule = n/a is 4.3
pre89 Turbo=3.91
89+turbo=3.73

na sport package (i think also an option) has the 4.3 lsd. All 3.91 and 3.73 were LSD

also the jza70 had a torsen lsd as opposed to clutch type... 4.11 i believe it was
