What's the difference between pre 89 and post 89 engine block?

I have 90 supra turbo that's over 220k miles. My compression ratio is 150, 145, 140, 160, 160, and 165. My valve seal is leaking bad. My plan is to rebuilt the engine. I have an 88 7mgte engine as a spare engine that I plan to rebuild. My question is can I use the 88 engine? 88 engine has square motor mount and mine ( 90 ) has round motor mount. I don't want to spend on the rebuild only to find out later I have to use 88 motor mount and subframe. I don't want to pull my engine right now because its still running only smoking. Is the bolt mount the same on these engine?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure my 90 engine block does not have the extra ribs on the block. Not sure if it is original but it has the 7m crank not the 6m crank so I bet it is. So, just because you have the 7m crank doesn't mean you have the updated block.

hey ij, i have an 88 block from japan(well, the chopped up harness had the green plugs) the casting # is 810 or 018. and also says 7m0095246 below.
i also have the extra ribs and wider pan ribs, but the the 6m crank.
would this have to do with it coming from japan?

same with the heads, there are two different castings...

who knows when the transition was, it's odd... makes me wonder if two factories where making them later or something (I'm sure the beefed up block had soemthing to do with type-A racing though...)
