What's the difference between pre 89 and post 89 engine block?

turbo a, wasn't these a limited 7mgte (7mgtu?)
as for the group a , i know very little about these, other than the oil pan!...gone to inform myself!

...ok no i really meant the turbo"a". wasn't there like only 500 made?

Marc: I can't say 100% certain but I'd "guess" they're an 87/88 light block we need a few people that have genuine Turbo A blocks to jump in and confirm though (or maybe Jeff has access to the info at work)

I'm thinking the opposite here IJ, since you'd want a stronger block for the power and for racing...

Would explain why N/A's got em first as well as type-a racing supposedly used N/A blocks (without oil squirters)

I come from a land down under
Turbo A's were GTE blocks so for the year would probably have been the Lighter blocks the Group A's used hand picked NA heavy castings without squirters.

There was nothing "fancy"(other than being MAP based) with a Turbo A and it bore little resembelence to the Group A cars.

not as needed with forged pistons, and they're a oil system leak (more than likely they ran oil pressures close too what IJ runs ore more)
