What's the deal with USDM 550's?

I bought a set of 550's, or at least they were supposed to be 550's, for my ride. Aaron had them cleaned & flowed, only to find out that they only flowed 450cc IIRC. I've heard more than one person mention that USDM 2J injectors aren't 550's, but more like 460cc's. Is there any truth to this or did I get robbed?

i read another thread on one of these forums where they had both jdm and usdm injectors flow tested. both averaging around 450 average. Now im looking for something tht will actually flow 550

Im starting to think that 550's are a myth, and they are 440's like JDM except different impedence. Of course, I think 1993 supra TT's differ from 94+. Maybe the 93's are 440

I'll have to look for my flow sheet from RC, I'm pretty sure they were all well over 500cc at least, no way as low as 440. I wouldn't have installed them had that been the case.

Hummmm, I just installed my MK4 *550s* last night. When I input the fuel correction from 370 to 550 in my emanage the car ran EXTREMELY lean. Idle was off the sale lean (above 17.9) I wasn't even going to attempt to drive it like that. So I kept recording test runs and settled at 480cc as the fuel correction. It seemed to like that the best. So Im really thinking that 550's are a big myth.

Jason's 1J, running with the correction of 550cc in the emanage caused it to be lean. Once we changed it to 470/480 the A/Fs were back in good shape.

It also is running out of fuel around 420 at the wheels so that sort of agrees with the 440 statement. Some have done over 500 with MKiv 550s, but were dangerously at 100% duty.

Yea man..... I paid $90 for all 6 cleaned and flow test. I'll get a spec sheet with every one of them.
They are pretty busy so turn around is 2 days. You wanna get them cleaned over here?

On my emanage I have the injector size at 420 now, like Robert posted at 550 it pulled way too much fuel and even at 420 I have the fuel settings almost maxed at full boost (16psi) and its still a little leaner than I would like

OK so I just got back from picking up the 550 injectors.
They measure them in lbs.
so my results are as follows:
1-48
2-47
3-47
4-50
5-47
6-47

So my final Average flow in cc is 437

Kinda upsetting, right? But here's where I can feel a bit better about them.
The machine that is used has a flat pressure rate of 3 bar which is 46psi of fuel pressure @ 2500rpm. I would imagine that if you increase the fuel pressure and increase the rpm it would flow more. Which is what the gentlemen told me but could not give me specs on higher fuel pressure or rpm.
If someone can make more sense of this please share with us.

lbs x 10.5 = cc

1-504 cc
2-494cc
3-494cc
4-525cc
5-494cc
6-494cc

2500 rpm? interesting.. I though they were tested at 100% duty for a minute..... dunno..
