3/8s is too small. It's like a 13mm or possibly a standard equivalent. Unfortunately nobody makes a 13mm bolt. So I bought a 1/2 inch rubber plug that you would normally use in the oil drain plug hole when it gets crossthreaded. I also used Magnum Steel to fill in the weep hole. Added coolant, fired her up, and it looks like it's gonna work out good. She idles at like 150-200rpm after I played with the timing on the distributor a bit. I'm gonna rotate the distributor a tooth over and try it that way. I'll let ya'll know how this works out after I get it to run correctly.

In the mean time if anybody happens to figure out the correct way to fix this problem, let me know what to do. Thanks for your effort guys!

Duh. Now that I look closer it is the mill. Must be the table leadscrew and bearing I see sticking out there. Thanks. Since we have a lot of this stuff in common I'm sometimes more interested in the shed than the car :)

Alright well on mine, there is a fitting stuck in there. Basically it threads into the block, get much larger and allows something to thread into it only I'm 99% sure it was originally designed to seal the hole like a bleeder valve does on your caliper. I thought I would try to take it out and put a plug in there but I have it in there WAY too tight to get back out without removing the exhaust manifold and getting a breaker bar on her. Although I torqued it down so hard I'd be kinda scared to remove it in fear those threads might be a little jacked now. They don't act like it but whatever. As long as it seals that's all I care about! LOL

You have the standard drain fitting in place that I mentioned earlier it's a 3/8bspt fitting with a M14x1.5 tapered seat plug that screws into it.

The plug seals with a taper cut on it's end and another female taper inside the fitting NOT on the threads.

If you're concerned just unscrew the fitting go and by a 3/8bspt pipe plug and screw that into the block.
