If you want a good tire and do not drive often then go with Kumho Ecsta MX's. Lots of guys I know love them. Or go with the Potenza S03? (Stock tire on the STi). Those tires have a really stiff sidewall.

i have the MX on my car and IMO for the price of these tires compared to the others, they are a very good deal to me

I agree. I just looked up how much 800 for tires alone. Not too bad considering most tire wheel combo's run 1200 to 1500 and you get some ass selling them with shitty tires.

Too bad your not running the stock wheels, Tire Rack has 225/50/16 F1's for $89 a piece. I'm kinda pissed that I already bought tires recently.

i have 2 sets (of 4) saw blades with winter tires on them. i'm picking up some MKIV wheels for the summer and will throw on some wide new tires can't wait.

i got ge-force sport on fronts and geforce kdw on rear, simply cause it kicks ass cause it performs well as a street tire it hook way better then the tires i had before at the track and i don't got sidways when i just simply speed through water and also i just like spending 700 bucks on bfg tires

I've been running the Firestone Firehawk SZ50's since 1996. I LOVED these tires. I went through 4 sets of these over a decade and now they don't make them any more. :( These things would grip VERY WELL in the rain and were insane in the dry - but don't even think about taking these out in the snow. Treadwear was excellent and they were VERY predictable. I knew just when they would break loose.

I still had tread left on my last set when I sold the white TT 5-spokes. I will miss those tires. Now I have to find something else to fit the new rims.

They're quiet, not too expensive, do light snow just fine, don't get hard when it's cold, and last decently. Good traction for me. I've run through Toyo, Pirelli, and Yokohama through the years, and like the Dunlops the best. Wet traction is almost as good as dry, and they are very predictable when they're going to let go.

My 350z had Bridgestone Potenzas from Nissan, and they were the worst tires I've ever owned. I'm never buying Bridgestone after experiencing these tires. They were really loud and got dangerously slick when the temperature dropped below 45. Sure, they're a "summer" tire, but the noise is inexcusable. The warm traction wasn't that good either.

The stickiest tire I ever owned was a Riken, but that was a long time ago. The Web says they're now a part of Michelin. A friend of mine, also with a Supra, tried some Michelins (probably the Pilot Sport) and won't ever use them again due to poor traction.

Avon and Continental make tires worth trying, though I've not.
