How much power are you running to break them loose? 2nd gear? I'm going to try to squeeze 295's or 315's on my widebody project with 400 rwhp.

Also, do they squeal around hard corners?

i've got falken azenis rt-615's wrapped around my mkiv rims. (275/40 rear, 255/40 front) i love them. they're grippy as hell.

if you're looking for straight line traction, get something with larger side wall though. when the weather gets cooler out, i break the rears loose.

I've heard that the Falken rt615s are the best street tire to get. The older ones had problems with traction in the rain once they worn down. However, the newer ones have no problems in the rain, even if they are worn.

the Falken rt615s are great for the track too.

They are stupid expensive, but perhaps look for a used set, I have seen some before, but the Bridgestone Potenza S-03's are sick. I run the previous model, the Potenza S-02 and they corner like hell, looks great, and seem to be holding up very well. Although, I don't drive the car much, so the longevity comment prolly isn't worth much. But again, these tires are not cheap, wouldn't recommend for daily driver. Could probably find some new old stock S-02's (like I did for a good price)
