What is the best spark plugs to use in a 7MGTE engine?

I currently have NGK irdium plugs in there right now, but was told copper were better.. Orginal plugs are double platinum.. Whats best to use in a semi built 7MGTE?

Copper for modded.

Platinum or iridium for stock or bpu.


I always use coppers. Only takes me 10 min to change them and there like 10$.

I use IS300 coils and since they were designed for ISO plugs, I use denso K20R-U's gapped at 23 thou.

If you use factory 7M coils and wires, you will need JIS plugs- something like a Q20R (stockers were PQ20R's) remove the P and you get regular copper/nickel plugs.

I am unfamiliar with the NGK plug number system, so I can't answer questions about them.

I'm partial to platinums since I don't like changing plugs often. Coppers work well, but wear out fast. Iridiums are crazy expensive, are hard to gap, and have issues in high power applications.
