ok just one more question. im not sure where top dead center is on the Camshaft position sensor. i just dont want to put it in wrong or mess anything up. im going to be setting the timing and putting the sensor in tomorrow, if my turbo comes in on time. i have the crank and cams all at top dead center, just ready to get it back on the road after the blown head gasket.

Those blue hoses where did you get those? If you got them at a auto store be careful. I bought one and placed it on the brake booster hose like you have, motor got hot and vac line pinched I had almost no brakes.

those hoses suck..no offense just that ive been through it.when they heat up they sometimes suck into themselves and some may melt..just a heads up and as for timing, time it to specs..and also as for the timing marks 0 deg on the crank pulley then the cam gears have lines in them that you match with the lines on the rear timing cover on the head and lastly set the cps accordingly..gl with your project!

ill have to keep that in mind. im going to keep the old ones. they were in good shape, just wanted it to look good after polishing everything up after replacing the head gasket, valve seals, turbo, and a few other things.

Good, to hear you're keeping those. You might pinch a line that would be for the FPR; which would be no good. There are other important lines as well.

Now that you have all the timing marks on the cams and crank lined up. Hold the CPS in your hand and turn it to line up the timing marks on it. You will have to eye ball it when going into the head so its in the middle of the adjustment range.

The CPS will turn as its going in because of the spiral cut gear. But make sure the housing still stays lined up. Its kinda funky to get it right but once you figure it out your good to go.

no prob, you dont really have to worry about messing up the motor as long as you put a timing light on it. It will either run like shit or make no power if its not right.
