I found an 87 supra turbo for sale for 1600 dollars and the only thing the guy claims is wrong and needs to be replaced are the left rear wheel studs, what exactly would cause a problem there and i know its vague but what commonly would break back there?

I was just wondering what it would take to repair that and how much it might cost. it sounds to me like you'd have to do something severe to break them?? not sure. it has 137k miles and sounded like a decent deal...maybe not? :icon_conf

i did a few searches and didnt come up with much on the subject and i've never heard of something like that.

easy. remove rotors. rent a tool from pepboys and push them out. buy new studs from the dealer and pull them back in. I replaced all of them on my ae86. I went with landcruiser studs because they were 1/2" longer.

theres gotta be something worse wrong with it, you can drive it with a broken stud, not smart but as long as your not being an ass it should be okay. the way the seller says first with cash takes it... tow it home sorta scares me a little, if your close go check it out. you can get a wheel stud out with a c-clamp btw...

matt- here's one for you if you'll wait a few days before pursuing http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/car/176549899.html it's got leapard print interior!! roflmao

ross- thanks, it was kinda iffy... we dont live close but we're traveling in that direction and i'm taking a look at all the supras that

i'm hoping he stated the towing part so someone wouldnt pick it up and drive it off on the basis of thinking they were safe to thrash it..then a wheel pops off and they sue... dunno. maybe its not drivable or the wheel wobbles or something?

personally i wouldnt drive a car with a broken part that is meant to hold ANY of the rear end together...or any other vehicle support for that matter...

just did a wheels stud half hour tops, as long as you know how to remove the disc and claiper fast

cool, thanks. I dont think i'll be getting another supra until mine is fixed. i had another thread about a different car and different issue but now i've realised that i need to fix the one i have before i mess around with getting another supra...running or not:nono:

but now i know... thanks again.
