All i know is if you make something "universal" with ge's and gte's, IE- timing cover, i will 100 percent purchase one.

Hell, ill send you the money now for one!
I would love a smoked one! Start a new thread and see how many people are certain theyd buy one!

EDIT - The other thing is i would not mess with manifolds and stuff with non-turbo guys. I ported and polished on not too long ago, and everyong said they would buy one blah blah blah.

Well, lets jsut say not ONE person has actually stepped up. Its still for sale.

What s383mmber1 is saying here is very sound. Focus on the universal products.... at least for now. Until you have the capital to invest in application specific hardware.

My recommendations would be:
1) smoked and clear timing covers (hell how about just a smoked top cover?)
2) inexpensive SS or alum hard pipes for the rad lines
3) alum polishing kit
4) a universal intake box (jimi87-t made a VERY nice acrylic one here)
OR
5) a bolt in heat shield, like this or this
6) Perhaps get together with Wolfie and act as a US distributor for his clear lenses
7) Sell super fine grit sandpaper in kits for those of us who either don't have local suppliers or are too lazy to find one and who'd rather order from someone we know.
8) Hose and wire fasteners and organizers
9) LED dash lighting kits... yeah, plenty of us know how many of which sizes are needed, but a kit would probably move fairly well
10) a pipe adapter for the Apexi intake filters :naughty:

well i have quite a few other ideas and products that are generally universal...so i figured i would see what specific sides wanted.

as for your list....pretty interesting ideas...ill look into a few of them...IN FACT i had PMd wolfie about being the US distributor for his lenses but have not heard back from him...maybe i will try again.

thanks again guys... keep them coming...

Im gonna have to agree with you on agreeign with me ;)

1. Smoked top clear cover would probably be much easier to manufactur and look awesome! I bet cheaper to!

2. Soudns good! Id rock this! If you could produce radiator hard pipes for under 60 bucks that would be frakin sick. I could care less if it was polished or not!

3. i dont think there woudl be much general interest in this, as they can be found at any hardware store very cheaply!

4. A intake box would be AWESOME!!!!!

5. Same as above!

6. Not a fan of aftermarket lights

7. Same as 4

8. same as 7 and 4 :)

9. PLEASE do this!!! That would be awesome!

10.Nah! But only because theres so many variations of intakes out there.

Basic points->

-Smoked top timing cover woudl be sickk and not tooo hard to make
-Cheap, effective, plain HARD radiator hose would be easy to make, and im sure alot of people would buy them and paint/poweder coat them any color they want
-ANY intake box/heat sheild soudns liek a GREAT idea.

Just, whatever you make, make it for EVERYONE. Everybody uses a rad pipe, timing cover, and intake. NOT everyone uses jsut turbo items and apexi intakes;)

This is a great thread so far! I love some of the ideas!

How about a stripped 2.5" catback? No muffler and no resonator, Just mandrel bent pipes with flange for the cat and exhaust hangers already welded in place.

You might find some interest in products catered to the N/A-T crowd.
1) Oil cooler kits
2) Turbo oil and coolant hose kits (perhaps with the oil return bung which they'll have to have welded to the oil pan)
3) Intake pipe T's with prewelded in BOV flanges
4) Oil relocation kits

***How about a hardened bolt set for aftermarket driveshafts which actually fits?

Jeez man... didn't have to be so harsh.

j/k, I'd need it sooner than he could produce it anyway.... :biglaugh:

Head light covers. The ones with the scoop would be sweat as well and everyone would want them. If I had the tools to build an airbox I would, but I don't so...., Again, something we would all love.

I think it would be beneficial to all of us if you tell us the other side of what you were thinking. Just a thought.

I personally don't get the timing cover. I would rather have one to match the color of the auto instead of smoked, and I would rather have clear over smoked. A timing cover in it's self had better be a deal or I'll go stock. 75$ to start...., 90$ shipped is more like it. Especially if you want to sell some of them.

Also a decent e-brake cover would be good.

The stuff listed is too model specific! Not many people use NA-t. And most people already have BOV's.

Ideal has to go for the masses with cheap items and a universal easy fit to apeal to both the NA crowd AND turbo crowd alike.

The issue with the universal heatshield is not everyone uses the same extractors so it would be very hard to make.

I guess you missed my post prior.... I listed plenty of universal stuff and Ideal said that he was looking in here for more specific stuff. A couple kits for the dozens of NA members who're going N/A-T wouldn't hurt and it's specific. That's all. Yes, I agree, he'll see alot more of the universal stuff moving out than N/A or N/A-t conversion specific hardware... but he'd also be one of very few offering it.

(DS hardware) more info on this?

IDK how well it'd move. But a number of us with one piece DS's needed to find hardened bolts and cut them down to size to replace the old ones which are too short.... just more of a PITA than alot of us wanted to deal with...

I myself couldn't find any with a head small enough seat flush against the flange. Everyone I've read posts by, who've managed to find bolts that will fit still had to grind down the heads... but all the ones I bought had heads that were all WAY too big, and I'm not putting the bolt in and sitting it ontop of 4 washers so it'll sit flush.

Some folks have had luck finding bolts that fit at Lowes or Home Depot, but none of the ones around me carry them the right size (they said it might be a demograpraphic thing). At anyrate I've now got a bag with 16 different hardened bolts which don't fit and I'm not about to order them unless I'm damned sure they're sized right.

The bolts need the same head size as the stockers but need to be 5 - 8mm longer with a thread pitch of 1mm (preferably) or 1.25mm... not the 1.5 or 2mm that seem so popular in my area.

replacement hardlines for the radiator? my rubber hoses need replacing.

and i think a stripped exhaust would be great. has anyone had experience with the vibrant flat black mufflers? the 2.5 inch looks pretty nice.

I'd be down for the turbo lines, rad hard pipes, DS hardware and probably the bare exhaust and oil filter relocation kit and cooler.

There might be one or two more things I'd be interested in, but generally, I'm not interested in most of what else has been suggested. However, I do have a good idea what others on this and other forums would like to see.

And yes, s383mmber1, some of the items suggested can be pieced together at most local hardware stores... but if it's all sold in one kit, many people will pay more for the convenience.

convenience??? pay for it??? Your'e insane. If i get ripped off buying things on line again I'm going to explode. Convenience is a parts house telling me they will have my shiat in the day after next. I pay, they fetch. It shows up. My car runs. Convenience. These are only opinions. And there is a reason they are free. You were doing good till that last phrase.

He's referring to the convenience factor of having a kit put together for you...It can become a PITA trying to hunt down every part for a project.

And I hate waiting for parts I ordered online...lol...I would die from starvation if I ordered pizza from Pizza Hut online, that's for sure.

It all depends on the individual. Everyone wants something and there's always a hurdle or two between them getting it.

Headlight covers? I'd never buy them... they're completely pointless without a fair amount of cutting (forward support member) and the amount of air they're capable of flowing is pathetic. :nono: Are you insane for suggesting it? NO.

Airbox? Again, something I'd NEVER buy.... I've got everything I need to build one and besides, the components are readily available at Home Depot and Lowes, you've just got to get off your butt and buy the parts. Hell, they'll even cut it for you. It's just a box after all.... BUT would other people buy it? YES Is anyone forcing you to buy it? I should hope not, and if you feel they are I should consult either the police or a professional (depends on whether other people can see the perps :evil2: ).

I'm not posting just the things I'd buy, obviously, but also items I believe a fair number other people would purchase if for no other reason than they can just order and have it delivered to their door before they start their project for the weekend... so yes, CONVENIENCE.

I don't see how my posts are different from yours in any way other than the fact that I am tired of ordering things on line and getting left empty handed.

Don't act like unrestricting any type of air is something no one wants to do because all of us wants as much air as we can make to hit that filter. Everyone wants that, wether they have yet to realize it or not and the fact that you have what you need for an air box just affirmates the fact that if you didn't. You may be in the market for one. I went back in to apologize after reading johnathons post and that apology still stands. If you will accpet it. Or we can keep yacking on eachother, wich I would rather not do.
