Option 1:

Front 17x9 with a +24mm offset
Rear 17x10 with a +20mm offset

Option 2:

Front 17x9 with a +24mm offset
Rear 17x10.5 with a +20mm offset

With the right wheels spacers (10mm?) they will fit nicely. My only concern is that 10.5 on the 2nd set may be too wide. The 2nd set is more affordable, and I'd like to stretch the tire a little for a nice breakaway feel. (These will be my track wheels.)

Oppinions?

Thanks,
Collin

Uhhh on your car.. they will stick out like a mofo.

17x10 is only .5 wider than MKIV wheels which are nowhere close to sticking out like a mofo. lol

These are from "that auction site". Search "17x9 Saleen". Option 1 is $534.00 plus $82.00 for shipping.

Yeah, #1 does look pretty sick. :D

Offsets -_- only .5 wider yes. but the offset is like 30mm less too.

As I understand it, greater offset means more sticking out so since the offset is less on these, that can be corrected with spacers. Was I mistaken? These are Saleen replica wheels, and I have seen mustang wheels on MKIII's before. They fit very well.

Lower offsets = out more. It can be done. I mean my offsets are even lower. But you are also on stock suspension and probably running close to 0 camber. They will stick out noticeably. Let me get you specs compared to your current sawblades.

Lower the offset, the greater they stick out of the wheel well. The higher the offset the more they are tucked in the wheel well.

First set. the 9" will come out 38mm, 10" will come out 55mm

Second set. 9" will be the same as the first . 10.5" 61mm

they are in the wheel thread in my sig. Umm the current ones should be on the last page if not last few. There are also good size/ offset combos you can look at in there.

Those are mustang wheels, which are very cheap. The 9" mustang wheels will probably fit in the back but the 10-10.5" ones will definitely stick out.

About the rears, with regard to the offset that you'll need and inner clearance

you'll have to roll the fender and go with a really high offset for the widths that you want.

10", the offset should be around +50, then you'll have 51mm less clearance at the back of the wheel.

10.5": offset should be around +56, then you'll have 63mm less clearance at the back of the wheel.

How much clearance is there from the back of a stock wheel to the lower control arm?

As far as which wheel I'd go with: Option 1.

I was really just playing around with affordable options, so I'm not heartbroken over this. I'm also not neccessarily looking for the widest wheel possible. My plans are to set up the car for road course racing. I want enough tire that I can use every bit of 500-600hp coming into the straight portions, but I need to be conservative enough with the rears that I can put a similarly wide tire in the front, otherwise it's going to push around every turn.

I've been cosidering MKIV N/A wheels because 16x8 and 16x9 with sticky tires would work very well.

Hey, at least I learned something in this thread, even if I was just being retarded and getting the offets confused.

Thanks guys!
