Well there ya go! There's really not much to it. Just try to drain as much as you can. Unscrew the 3 screws for the cover in the hatch, unbolt the top from the filler area so you don't snap the neck, unbolt the two straps but suspend the tank. Lower the tank slightly so you can disconnect the lines from the top. Its not too bad really.

My 90 had been sitting for over 7 years in a garage before I picked it up. When I took out the pump, saw all kinds of shit. Dropped the tank and gunk and rust just poured out... And since all that stuff was getting pumped, I swapped out the filter was well.

Might catch some flack for this, but I finally re-installed my interior and a neat little steering wheel which will keep my hands happy. 89+ JDM tails are also installed, no pics of that. Just waiting for my crankshaft bearings to come in and I can finally start putting the engine, and subsequently the car back together. Still looking to replace the driveshaft for a one piece. That'll come later :icon_bigg

Fuel filter changed... Rust poured out of it
Ugh... yum. Well, I'd imagine after 20 years, they're bound to be gross by now. They're a good filter (lifetime from what the wise ones point out), but a new one will last you another 20 or so years, so... have fun with that?

You'll have a bunch of people chime in insisting that it isnt necessary, and that it is a lifetime filter. Truth it, sometimes it'll still get overwhelmed with nasty gunk, so the least you can do is drop the tank and clean both out.
I'd clean both as a minimum, long as you're down in the area. I'll be replacing mine, since we're going to be putting new lines and pumps on it while we're in there anyway.

Is there a write up on dropping the tank and doing the filter replacement ? may do this over the weekend
Should be right there on the main page (supramania.com) in the tech articles.

Why would anyone give you flack for that? Looks better than all but the 89-style 3-spoke in my opinion. :)

Changed the brake and clutch fluid, will change the brake pads probably tomorrow when they come in and I attempted to fix my boost leak; however, the turbo whistles louder than before but doesn't sound like a surge with that chirping or fluttering noise just a loud constant whistle sort of like a supercharger. Here is a video a friend of mine recorded with my phone. Turn your volume up and you can hear the whistle. It builds boost like normal now and hits hard I will find out for sure once my replacement accordion hose comes in then I will find out if that is the problem.

Here is a video my friend took with his phone you can hear the turbo better

I really like this style of steering wheel, full size yet sporty, kinda like the rest of the car
