Oh ok. Our cars don't have OBDI or OBDII like most modern cars. I assume your toyota adapter is probably for newer toyotas and probably wont work, but I may be wrong. You have to take a paperclip or the special Toyota tool and plug them into certain pins in the little black box behind the battery and then the CEL will flash and thats how you get the codes.

Here is a better description.

i actually pulled it out of the garage and drove it :). unfortunately, now it won't start. :(
i'm pretty sure it's the small blue wire that goes to the starter. time to do some research on how to fix it properly.

at least i got to do a few burnouts. lol

Nice car, you will get compliments more than you think. For me it's usually people who had just started driving when the MK3 was new or pretty much any guy that is actually knowledgeable about cars. There will also be the ricers that pull up in their slammed civic with a coffee can muffler and ask if its "twin turbo"...

Also I want all of you Texas guys to know that I am jealous of your license plates... Alabama switched to these ugly green ones this year. I hope I don't have to switch because I have a personalized plate.

In Toronto, people always give me thumbs up when I drive around town. It's wierd because you don't really expect it, but these cars in good condition definitely garner alot of attention and well deserved respect.

I was in DFW last weekend with a couple of friends to pick up his tranny for his GTO. Very nice country out there. Even with my ugly front bumper I get compliments too also at red lights or whenever I park somewhere and people are around, etc. I wish I could find a pearl white front bumper in good shape locally.

Hehe. Ya. I had a guy last year pull up to me at a red light and said "I don't like imports, but I really like the sound of your car. Rip it for me when the light turns green."

Let's just say he needed to see the ear specialist after I was done with him. :D

Haha. Better than blowing an IC pipe and wondering why you can't go more than 15km/h. :D

well it wouldn't do over around 35mph lol now I just noticed my timing belt is walking back and rubbing against the back plate:3d_frown:

Ya, i've dealt with something similar. What causes that because i've noticed the timing belt walk towards the backplate a bit.

I swear this car scares me. After all the work i've done and will be doing, it only takes one small thing to completely destroy it.

I will be making a build thread in a couple weeks when it's actually decent outside and I'm hoping the Supra community is strong enough to help me through the impossible times, since I'm borderline retarded when it comes to putting any kind of car together. :D

Well I helicoiled my exhaust threads when I did my BHG a couple of years ago and a couple of weeks ago I heard an exhaust tick so I bought all of the exhaust gaskets and new exhaust nuts, etc. as I was reinstalling everything I noticed one stud right under the CPS would get difficult to screw in then if I kept at it it would spin freely and tighten up again until I surpassed that breaking point and it would repeat. I am not sure if that stud is bad or the helicoil gave out. I will know for sure once I have the time to reinstall my downpipe since with this stupid ebay downpipe it's IMPOSSIBLE to put the bottom nut on the exhaust manifold side on unless you put it on first with the downpipe barely going through the turbo studs also you cannot get a socket on it you can barely get an open ended wrench on it. I plan on buying a BIC downpipe anyway but not sure if I want recirculated or open wastegate like the pipe I have on now. I do like how it sounds open wastegate but I wish I could find a video of how it sounds recirculated with a tanabe exhaust. The weird thing is I was able to torque all of the exhaust manifold nuts to 30 ft lbs according to the TSRM specs but I think the leak is from the downpipe due to that one nut I couldn't get on and by the time I noticed I couldn't get that nut on I had everything else bolted up and I was exhaust, so I said screw it I am broken I'll do it later no big deal.
