Should still get them they would come in handy as well lol.

I am still figuring out my boosting problem, replaced the BOV with a turbosmart but today I set my boost controller to about 60% and it reached about 7 or 8 psi but the turbo was pretty loud sounded like it was producing more than 8psi of boost then I hit fuel cut oddly enough. I posted this in my thread in the 7MGTE tech forum but thought I would post up what I did to my MK3 today. Still frustrating that I can't boost like I used to but I have a strong feeling it's my Blitz boost controller solenoid, so I will put my manual boost controller on and work my way from there because when I bought that one it actually controlled the boost and I saw and felt it increase.

I am loving my Viper alarm though I just love remote starting it and such lol never had a car with an alarm before. The guys who installed it said the alarm brain had some issues with the parking lights lighting up when I armed or disarmed the alarm but I am pretty sure it's because I replaced my lights with LEDs and the dash light is on since they use less power and such so the car thinks the bulbs are out but the guys said that wouldn't cause it. I still think they are wrong lol.

hahaha been there when I did my head gasket I forgot some small stuff when I got to putting it all back together and I was like FUUUUU gotta wait another 3 days now. The worst was stripping the head bolt I had to get creative with a slightly larger size socket bit and dremel it down then hammer it in.

Oh no, did you have to pull the entire head again?

I know that FUUUU feeling all too well from this Supra project!
oh no this was when I was changing my head gasket a year ago and it had the stock bolts. That one stripped head bolt slowed me down for a few days because I was trying to find the safest way to get it out. Everything is fine now, well I am still having boost problems after full boost it seems to stop pulling but might be my blitz boost controller.

Ok gotcha, I misunderstood and thought the bolt stripped going in. Still not a good time at all.

Most of my FUUU moments have been in removing something to get to something and seeing the horrible state of the gasket or leaking oil or...well you know :p

Hope someone can get you help on that boost issue. It has been plaguing you since the car came back online, right?

Went to drop my head is at the machine shop and all of them were closed :banghead: I don't have time during the week to do it due to work

Same thing happened to me when I got my parts ceramic coated. When I mentioned this to the guy working there he said I could call and they can adjust hours to help out. Maybe one of the shops near you could do that?

I'll try that, hard to make a schedule though due to unpredictable work hours lol

It's been plaguing me recently when I first installed the lex afm and 550 injectors it was boosting nicely and threw me in my seat then I noticed one day it lost power after 3k rpm you can feel it stop pulling and I blew through my bov, so I replaced that and it's still doing it. Tomorrow after work I am going to put the manual controller back on and leave it at stock settings and go for some runs. Hopefully that's the problem and not my turbo going out.

That's good that you like the alarm. If you don't mind me asking how much did they charge you to install the alarm and was it a local shop or a place like best buy?

$158 after taxes at a local stereo shop they also build custom boxes and such for subwoofers in cars. There is a place next to my job that could also do it for $100 but I didn't trust that they would do a good job also a friend of mien recommended the place I went to.

That's not bad. I'm debating having an alarm like that put in my car. I wouldn't need the remote start, but I would kinda like the keyless entry. A while ago I tried to add a shock sensor and glass break sensor to the factory alarm but I was only ever able to get the glass break sensor to work for reasons unknown to me(after messing with it for days and trying every solution I gave up), but at the same time I also like having a functioning factory alarm. Decisions, decisions...

Having a remote start is nice on a hot or cold day, so when you get in the car your AC is already cold or hot and she's warmed up ready to go. My car had keyless entry but the previous owner lost the remote for it and I tried to get a replacement but ended up getting the wrong keyfob and never found the green button on the ecu lol. The alarm itself was about $180 brand new it's an older model but still has the same features as the new stuff with the exception of the smart start stuff that lets you use your phone to control the alarm. I am not too worried about anyone stealing my car since here in Houston MK3s are rare as it is and mainly Hondas and trucks get stolen I've never heard of a Supra getting stolen let alone an MK3 but nice to know that if my alarm goes off so does the alarm pager.

Yeah it would be nice, but my car is a stick shift and I park it in gear so the remote start won't really work. Did you get the alarm through the shop or online?

$180 sounds like a really good price too. $338 for a two way alarm with remote start installed sounds like a steal to me. I'm not too worried about the supra being stolen either because it isn't a mass parts car like an accord or camry, but I always worry about my car even when I shouldn't.

ah yea I use my Ebrake since I rarely ever park on a steep incline or an incline at all lol. I bought the alarm online from a different place I think it was either Amazon or sonicelectronics

I like my security system and remote start. While my '89 was NA, I had it done up as an IASCA SQ car, so the sound system was quite valuable. (Enough so that someone decided they needed it more than I did.)

The car is also a 5 speed. I got used to using the E brake and not leaving it in gear. The starter could also function as a turbo timer, however it was a long time before I had any use for that function, as it took a while before I had a turbo motor in the car. If you have a turbo timer, you'd need to get used to leaving it in neutral and using the parking brake anyway.
