Took advantage of the good weather. Washed and waxed, took the targa off and found a good spot for some pics...

Tried changing my front main seal since it's been leaking a little bit but it turned out to be a disaster and my new main seal got shredded and the metal key piece came out as I tightened the crank pulley. Can I re use that crank key or am I fucked?

Spend a couple bucks and get a new one. You don't want it coming loose and fucking over your crank...

Tried looking for the oil pump bolt with the huge washer, I used it with a chain to lift engine, and went to put it back but of course ruined threads. Can't find a fat stubby replacement, so off to the store I go. Anyone know the story on that bolt, it doesn't fasten, just plugs, kinda curious why?

The crank does seem fine I was wondering if the key comes out can I just tap it back in or what.

I used a dab of liquid gasket (left to cure prior to install) to ensure that bugger didn't pull a disappearing act...

"woodruff key"

once the bolt/washer is in that holds it... along with the groove it sits in

Well turns out my little problem turned into an even bigger one, compression on cylinders 3 and 4 were 80-90 and had oil on the spark plugs also the new main seal I installed some of it might have gotten sucked into the crank. Oh, and I might have bent valves.

lol... sorry.. Its just the way you worded it.. its like... "I walked in the door and noticed my house was broken into and everything was gone and my dog got out the door as soon as I opened it. Oh.. and I think my wife left me".

The gremlins really have it in for you it seems.

After months of setbacks and delays and trials and tribulations I've finally got something in my engine bay! I need to get this thing running now that spring has finally sprung!

Damn... At least it's not spun bearings ;-) I sense a new thread opening... :)
