IJ : no I did not the motor was just a re ring and bearing job to get my DD running again. Its still STD bore, when we pulled everything out to re ring it it was pretty nice in there we threw a light hone on it and put it all back in.
I'm at a loss to explain/understand that damage as it's all from the outside of the skirt......

positive thats STD bore. I just checked the #6 hole in the block and its nice and egg shaped along with the piston time to go 20 over

well im stumped the only thing i can think of is something got jammed between the piston and the cylinder wall...... but seems unlikely unless the bore was out like IJ was saying.......

I'd expect to see cracks then.... There doesn't seem to be any valve marks in the crown.

Not exactly a proper break in on this motor (runs away in shame) Its first time starting up it was revved to 4500 instantly due to a leaky intake manifold.

Anyway going to get quotes on it all monday morning (accepting donations lol ) Its either getting a 57 trim or a LIPP boss bolt on eagle rods and weisco pistons with studs everywhere I can. Greddy or cometic 2.0mm MHG and my built head.

USE PROPER BREAK IN PROCEDURE!!!!
i just had a build thread time for a new one.
after the manifold issue was fixed it got a proper break in.( except for a little boost to avoid being hit by that jackass ........but thats another story)
