WEIRD WHIIINING SOUND.........?HELP?

HI Guys,

after I have driven my car 7mgte 88 and I park it,
I heard this constant loud whining sound from the back of the car??

This is after I have turn of the car..........

Could it be the fuel pump (oem)??

Any thoughts

If it has tems i know they make noise or your fuel pump could be making?

Perhaps it is your fuel cap, letting off pressure. If it is, get a new one for $6.

In the engine bay in the diagnostic box use a copper wire or something and connect port B+ to FP. This will allow you to run the pump briefly without starting your car to see if you pump is working correctly. If it makes the same whining sound you were talking about you know what it is.

If you dont have a windshield wiper on the back it might be the motor for the arm??

it could be anything, event a small exhaust leak Could u describe the sound u're hearing a bit more in detail? What side is it coming from? Is it hi-tone or low-tone?

He said it happens after he turns the car off, so I don't think it's drivetrain noise.

yeah its after I shut of the car , NOTHING IS ON and then I can hear this sound -

its like a constant high pitch sound - cant really explain it much closer

So its not drivetrain or diff -
Maybe fuel pump, Ill try the diagnosis box test

Check the motor in the rear hatch for the power antenna.

When I bought my car, I found out that the motor for the antenna was unplugged. I plugged it in and it made the same whinning sound. Probably thats why the previous owner left it unplugged
Havent had time to fix it so I just left it unplugged.

Actually, I would think it would be the power antenna also.

cars off diff doesn't move while car isn't rolling
