Like 80 pounds... you'd still weigh close to 2 tons and you're interior would look like shit!

Not worth it unless it's a track car.

You'll probably save more weight removing the 2 front seats and replacing them with light weight seats. The drivers seat is the one thats suppose to weigh the most out of the two. Check out the link the other member gave you.

waste of time unless you like the guted look. the drivers seat is the heavest part. and unless you really took time and knowledge into it for racing purposes for power to weight its a waste of time

while i was fixing my dent and swaping interiors for a while i was driving without anything other than a dash and driver seat. i did notice the car felt a little faster. i was down at least 300lbs because i normally have everything back there even the spare and my heavy ass subwoofer box. i think it weight 3,3xxlbs when i weight it. so it will make a noticable difference. the big problem is it looks like shit, you can here every fucking little noise, and not one girl i know would ride in my car while it was like that. even if put the seat in. so yeah. waste of time unless you have a reason for doing it. there are a lot of things to loose if your not careful.

Damn, I'm "another member" now :biglaugh:

Anyways, the driver's seat isn't really too heavy if it's the one that isn't a power seat (meaning you just move it up and down etc manually). But IMO, don't reduce weight in the rear. If you reduce weight in the rear, try to make the car more balanced with a battery relocation.

LOL......So True....why waste time thinking this will make you go fast. You need to lose 200lbs to gain like 1/10th of a second. Is this worht the sacrafice in comfort and appearance?:nono:

no to mention traction... like everybody else said. if you have factory power seats and youre really worried about weight that much, replace them with some nice light cf buckets. otherwise you really are just wasting your time.

with the rear interior our and rear sound deadening out. my car weighed in at 3490 with driver and half tank of gas. weight dist was 55/45. this is with stock seats front carpet and sound deadening in. i was really happy with this number beacuse switching to a lightweight battery pulling the front carpet and sound deadening putting in racing seats and a cage and ill be relativly light and should bring my weight dist closer to 50:50.

my experience is the same as everyone elses. the weight savings by removing the rear interior is not that much.

I'd get on a more extreme fitness plan before I go about removing my interior. I remember someone wanting to go about removing sound deadening material from their car a while back... it'd be so loud I wouldn't really want to drive it IMO. Wait- you can remove the driver. :sarcasm:
