How is moisture controlled? Like, rain?

I have a couple large magnets(for signage/advertising)that normally stick to a car door, they are black, and cover over the holes by about an inch.Figure IF it gets caught in,or even sees rain this would help.
As far as moisture, the engine compartment should be,for the most part, waterproof.

Jimi87-t:I like the vents you did too,I take it they are 'glass/plastic add ons.Are you gonna mold them/paint them?

That side shot shows them better and they look like they are in a better location than I thought, so don't mind what I said about them being too far back ;)
Thanks, yeah I molded them out of fiberglass, they will be filled and painted with the hood like the side vents I did.

Nice work! You did a great job, I also like that style of vent, but I went a slightly different route. The only "problem" I see is yours are set back on the hood, in the high pressure zone of the hood and would be way more effective if they were more to the front in the neg. pressure zone of the hood. Not trying to be an ass, just pointing it out. I think you did a awesome job!

Here are some picks of mine, not done yet, still deciding on the number of louvers (if any) I want.

Jimi,

Are those drop-in inserts, or did you fab those up? They look great!

i've reread this old thread again, as i'm about to get started on this much needed hood vent.

i've seen a couple of inserts from various cars that might work, and of course i could just cut up the hood like this thread details.

for those of us who've used inserts, what cars did they come from please? it would be so much simpler if there was a suitable insert!

also, what do u guys do about the ribs that reinforce the hood? looks like theres no positioning the vents to avoid the ribs.

i've begun mocking up the various styles of vents, before deciding, hence the attached drawings. hope they're useful to someone else as well.

cheers
