using the wrong coolant: what's gonna happen?

Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light
Don't think Toyota even used red coolant back when the Supra was introduced...

Depends on what green coolant. There are different types of green coolants, just like there are different types of red coolants. The one you should be using in your car is a "Ethylene Glycol". The type you want to seriously avoid is a "Propylene Glycol" based coolant, as when it's exposed to oxygen and heat, it will form a weak acid that will attack the metal in your cooling system even though there are chemical buffers to try and neutralize a pH drop. Why do they even have propylene glycol based coolants you ask? Because it's "non-toxic" and considered generally safe where as ethylene glycol can be lethal if ingested.

Also a quick note...
If you do have the wrong type in there, be sure to flush the system thoroughly. Just having a residue of the propylene glycol in there will still cause issues. Mixing the two is also a huge huge no no.

The green coolants are heavily on the silicates. Toyota Red is HOAT that uses phosphates. Zyrex is also HOAT with a small amount of silicates for fast action. DexCool is a OAT coolant.
Silicates work well on most motors, but on the 7M cause an reaction between the head and block...I won't use it. Toyota Red or G05 at 50/50 with distilled water.
Koen - stop being a cheap ass and use good coolant and oil.

Hey everyone, as I've said in the past all answers welcome. You'll never know what I'll learn from you guys, as always I'm learning all the time some times the hard way (or I didn't know any better).
Honestly I don't know where the Lucas oil seed was planted or how I got that idea of using Lucas oil initial break in. I may have gotten the idea from a race car driver, I telling him that I was burning a little oil, he suggested Lucas, so I believed him (this is pre S.M days). I guess the other seed that was planted is from the counter display at the parts store, and I saw how thick it was and how it adhered to the plactic gears. I only used it in conjuction with assembly lube. But I changed oil after the first 20 mins of a rebuild.
Lack of knowledge = cheap ass by default.

Jdub I read that you said to mix g05 with distilled water 50/50 but the g05 label says prediluted and not to mix with water.
