My native 7M-GTE igniter is fried (I've checked it according TSRM) and 7M-GTE's are very rare in our country, so can't I use JZ igniter in my 7M-GTE?

Afaik, JZ's has 6 inputs/outputs (instead of 3 on 7M-GTE), so can I just use 3 of them?

PS: Are 1JZ(ge and gte) and 2JZ(ge and gte) igniters the same?
PS2: Where can I see JZ's igniter pinout?

Thank you very much!

That's not good :-(
Couldn't you explain please, what is COP and WSD?
Are there any drop in replacements for stock ignition system?

sorry lol im sued to acronyms...

COP= coil on plug meaning each spark plug fires on its own per its own coil
WSD= waste spark distribution meaning there are sets of coils and two plugs fire at once..once is used for combustion the other one is "wasted"

as for drop in replacements...no clue...you could always buy an igniter from the us or something and have it shipped to you... :dunno:

Ok, I see.

PS: of course, I'll try to find original igniter here... shipping from USA is not an option, because it is very expensive (about 100$ I think)... by the way, what is reasonable price for the igniter (in US)?

would there be anyway he could use the coil on spark ignition from the jz. Pretty much meaning could he swap a jz ignition into his car. I'm not sure but i think i'v seen it done. Just a thought

You see, friend of mine, has 1JZ-GTE, that he hasn't installed yet. So I think, he will give me his igniter to try, but I must be sure, that I will not burn it...

PS: haven't anybody of you spare igniter for 7M-GTE? For any case... ;-(

2 supra_girl: ok, I'll consider that.
Another question to you: Can I use 1JZ coils+1JZ igniter on my 7M-GTE. I mean using 3 ECU outputs (IGT, IGD-A, IGD-B) and connect each of it to 2 inputs on igniter - what do you think?
And one more ? : will JZ's coils fit 7M's head? I mean length of hi-voltage "wire" of it? And will seal valve cover so good, as 7M's do?

2 group a supra: didn't understand any sense from your post... Is it _realy_ English? ;-)

well electrically. You should be able to use the 1jz-gte ignition on the 7M-GTE as both use a 5v signal to trigger the ignition. The only difference is that you will have to send the signal as the stock 7m-GTE coil pack does. Signal that goes to cylinder 1 must be feed to Cylinder 6 also. Signal that goes to Cylinder 2 MUST go to cylinder 5. Finally, the signal that goes to cylinder 3 MUST feed cylinder 4.

lol i think what he means is the person Ron R put 1jz coils on his and it looks ok but he's not sure how it was done

if you are talking about Ron R (jt2ma71) he is running a FULL standalone system on his vehicle. So he doesn't count ;)

Well, the last question about igniter (I think ;-):

Will JZ's igniter allow to spark 2 plugs at once? I mean, will it ground 2 of its outputs, if i'll give him +5V on 2 inputs at the same moment?
Hasn't it some protecting circuits for that case?
