sorry, i havent really started my car lately, ill have to get back to you guys on this one.
I'm not talking about lately. I'm talking about before. Surely when your car was overheating, you lifted the hood to inspect things.

Did you notice the fan was on low speed? If the fan was not running on the high setting, you would know.

If your fan has been blowing on low this whole time, it's no wonder your turbos are dead. You've been running hot ass coolant through them.

Maybe they were fine when you got them but you killed them already in short time.

If your fan hasn't been running at high speed at all, you're lucky your engine isn't toast.

Going single isn't going to help you if you can't fix your cooling system.

Fix your car. Worry about upgrading later. Would you rather kill another set of 200 dollar turbos or kill a 1000 dollar single?

ok so i went and revved the engine and it seemed like the fan was going pretty fast. i cant tell if its on LOW or HIGH because i never really payed much attention to it in the first place. how can i tell if the hydraulic fan is failing? and btw how does it fail? the only thing i know is the fluid pumps into the engine and it pumps back into the fan making it moves, no electronics involved?

There are electronics involved. How do you think the car uses the fan's high and low setting? :) There is an ECU for the fan.

Unplug the solenoid connector to see if the fan is working. You'll know it. The difference between high and low is very audible. So is the amount of air you can feel being moved.

Don't worry about going single right now. Worry about the cooling system.

The fan connector is grey. It's coming off the pump.

Unplugging the connector should result in a noticeable drop in fan speed. The fan is very audible. If you unplug the connector, the fan does basically dead quiet.

ive always thought the fan ecu was the green top connector? =X i kind of spliced into the grey connector because i thought it was old water temp sensor!! i used it for my water temp gauge.. :nono: jdm noob yo

The fan ECU is behind the glove box. Unless you put it elsewhere during the swap.

The fan ECU connector is not what I'm referring to. I'm talking about the solenoid connector. Are you sure that one's plugged in? The fan should still function without the ECU. IIRC, it just runs on high fulltime if that was the case.

I wouldn't drive the car anymore until your fan issure is solved if I were you.

the video is 1/2 done uploaded you can see clearly if the fan is functionally correctly or not. if all else fails dual electric fans ftw. ive heard a lot of bad and good things from electric fans.

ya it was relocated somewhere else. i cant seem to find the fan ecu at all.

I don't know where else someone would put it... That would be too much effort. The connector for the fan ECU is at the end of the harness with the rest of the engine ECU connectors.

BTW, don't ditch your hydro fan for E fans just yet.

And if you really were going to rip it out, just use a 2J clutch fan.
