Upgrades: Is there a 'best' order?

I just got my 89T going and was wondering if there was a way that I could do my upgrades and not have something become obsolete after another upgrade.... I.E. I don't want to get IC hardpipes when I wont be able to use them w/ an upgrades IC or turbo.

Things I'm looking into now are:
-exhaust is in progress-
1) brakes -slightly 'upgraded' stock-
2) Suspension - lowering springs w/ new quality shocks, strut/sway bars, new bushings
3) Upgraded cooling system - Fluidyne w/ FAL elec fans
-new performance tires when my current ones wear out-

I know I have those right because i want to be able to stop and turn...
As for what's next, I haven't the slightest.

I'm thinking:
4) IC -followed by hardpipes
5) Wideband
6)lex/550's
7) SAFCII
8) Upgraded turbo -not ct-

basically I'm just bored at school/work and am curious as to how everyone else would go about planning for upgrades.

matt-

you need to set a goal for the car. atleast to a point.

do you want to run a front face intake? which turbo do you want? what exh manifold do you want to run? what power do you want to make?

you can easily get 350rw out of some simple bolt ons and be done. but, if you are looking for more than that you need to figure out some goals since at that point you need to have parts that work with each other.

I'd LIKE to have a 12.95 or faster car. :icon_bigg Just so I can be cool like my bro and his Mustang.

BUT I also want it to handle good, as close to my mkII as possible. Basically a quick car that fun in the curves, yet I could let my GF and her friends take it out and not worry about them wrapping it around a telephone pole. So deff something with some adjustments on it.

That make sense?

It all depends what you want to do with your car....sometimes you have to think long term when you do things. Set your goal, and work your way to it. Pretty much worry about your air system, thats the biggest part on these cars. Once you hit the limit though, you gotta dive into fuel and start tuning those aspects to match your increasing air flow upgrades.

The car is technically for her (which is why it remained an Auto) so I'd atleast like to make it so she could drive it if/when she ever decided to.

And incase she reads this, it's fiance now, my bad. :icon_bigg

And what's with the :umno: ? It's not cool to let a female drive a Supra or something?

*edit*
and if this is about her spinning tires and driving like a 'tard, that seriously wont be an issue w/ her. She gets pissed off if I spin on a bit of gravel at a stop sign... women

Nothing against the GF.....oops Fiance'

I just don't think I would let anybody other than me drive my Supra. But, if you are building it basically for her, then by all means let her drive it. I still like your mKII.

Now post pics....please!

let the car breathe

intake
exhaust
electric fans
sway bars
lowering springs
powerslot brakes(or better)
strut bars
MBC or EBC

then go from there, just having those things makes a fun a car, you will need quite a bit more to be doing 12.95's but its a good start, hits every aspect a little.

^ Glad you didn't say both, because I've been barking up that tree for a LONG time and I still got nothin!

I'll post some updated pics tonight. Just promise not to flame the lack of 'put-back-together-ness' :icon_bigg

i would start witht he cheaper stuff and work my way up. start with intak, and hard pipeing, rims/tires, exhast, then head work, maybe new intercooler, and turbo, but i would do head work befor all of that. then move on ect...

First thing you need to do is figure out your budget, and define your power goals.

There's an upgrade list for a $3,000 budget... and there's an upgrade list for a $20,000 budget.

You don't want to spend $3,000 upgrading a little bit of everything just to find out you want bigger or better then throw that money down the drain for something different if you know what I mean.

Like I regret getting my hardpipes. I love them don't get me wrong, but I wish I got a FFIM first and didn't have to do all that all over again.
