where'd you get the tail lights in the 4th pic in your 2nd post? those are awesome!

those are actually my stock tail lights with a black vinyl overlay i found on ebay last year. Stick on the vinyl on the back side, spray paint the sides. If you want, you can cut out the rectangle for the backup lights (obviously, i chose not to). PM sent.

I plan to, but im getting impatient. For the past 5 months I've been without a daily. Blew the head gasket on my SOHC 240SX and have just been working for the Supra. I'd love nothing more than to only bring it out when the interiors fully done and the car is complete but it seems like my next step befor getting seat belts or a passenger seat or insulation or carpet, etc. will be just the driver seat and insurance tag and registration.

i love that timing cover. what is the emblem made out of?

as half assed as it has been done, I got on my computer, printed out a paper with a black background and silver 1J THIS lettering, cut out a bit smaller than the actual space that the lerrering would go in, and i put some tough, clear tape ontop of it to fill in the box so it would stay on and look clean. Dont think it'll last the test of time tho. Pretty sure the engine heat will cook the tape right off later on tho. But we'll see.

ordered the polyurethane engine torque damper from BIC Performance since i was missing one. Have to change out the freeze plugs on the 7M seeing as i noticed that the one on the back of the block is all blue-ish green so i might as well change all 11 plugs. Still waiting on Samco Engine Hoses. Ordered some Thermotech Heat/Sound Insulation to replace the heavy factory insulation i removed in the passenger compartment.

Got the Thermotech insulation. Gonna try to lay that down this sunday. See if I can't take some pictures and upload em. Haven't done anything about the freeze plugs because there are 2 that seem odd. I got part numbers for all of them but the two smaller plugs on the top right of the intake side of the cylinder block look strange in the diagram:

http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_198609_TOYOTA_SUPRA_MA70L-BLMVZA_1105.html

It looks like a normal freeze plug from the outside of my 7M but the parts catalog says its:

11432B PLUG, W/HEAD TAPER SCREW, NO.2
11432E GASKET, W/HEAD TAPER SCREW PLUG

So I still have to do some investigating... I'll keep you all posted.

Is that 'Dynamat' type stuff? My buddy puts Dynamat in all his vehicles. Everything from his 300ZX TT to his Minivan! :)

Looks good!

if dynamat protects from heat aswell as sound then yeah. I had gutted all the factory insulation out. Had also heard that without it, my shoes would probably melt to the floor panel so i figured this would help and quiet down the interior.

No offense, but do you have any better quality and bigger/closer shots of the black interior? How did you do it?

I can't tell how good it looks with the pics and if it looks good I'm just curious as to how you've done it and how it seems to be holding up thus far.

Well The door panels seem to be the only things that need a bit more work. I used the duplicolor interior paint from any autopart store. then again i didn't do that much prep work. I've given it a few coats so its not bad. All photos are with a cellphone camera so the quality varies. I'll see when i can't get a hold of a digital camera and take some more pictures for ya.

amazing job.

Can't wait to see the finished product. Its coming together nicely.
+1 for you for saving a supra

Thank You. This part of the build is just the mechanical... It still needs body work and paint later on. And hopefully the 7M lasts and i dont find a reason to do a 2J swap.

I had a question, you stated the boost and tach were the only things working, my car is doing the same thing, was it something secific or just a bunch of wires all together that resolved the issue?

Sorry, but when i bought it off Ray all of that was working again. Im thinking it was just a bunch of disconnected sensors. I'd have to ask him when i see him again but im not sure if he'll remember.
