Leakdown completed and the whole motor is junk.

I highly doubt the machine shop could have bothed it this bad. I got swindled.

Anyone have a LEGITIMATE built motor for sale?

:(

What all was wrong? Is it really not rebuildable? Hole in the block?

Anyway, I have a motor built for sale: $9000... ;) That includes everything from the turbo to the Ron R ffi, to the 1000cc RC Eng inj... Let me know... :D

If there's no hole in the block, rebuild it yourself. There's no way to know for CERTAIN what is in your engine, unless you do it yourself.

There aren't too many 7M's around that have had more time money care and attention poured into them then mine and trust me if I had to do it over it'd be bye bye 7M hello 2JZ ;)

Thats funny IJ - I was saying the same thing last year in trying to explain why I went with a 2jz na-T platform but people just wanted to crucify me for it!

Is the 2j a better engine? Of course, but there's nothing wrong with a 7m that has been taken care of properly.

Well, I dont quite know how to take that but if you meant that I didnt take care of my engine Im actually offended. I think its funny how people blame the owner of any 7m that gets a knock for not checking the oil or some other shit.

Most 7ms are pretty reliable if maintained, but many people lose their 7m for no particular reason attributable to the owner. In my case I lost the engine to a 3200 lb clutch. User error? I guess so..::moebaker::

Words of wisedom. I am sure if IJ had put as much into a 2JZGTE as he has his 7M...well, I just dont want to think about how fast that car would be.

Just letting you know how you came off in that thread.
The clutch is not an engine design flaw which is what I recall you going about.
IIRC you said you had a rod knock, which is not a flaw in the engine itself.

99% of 7m problems are due to and owner somewhere down the line.
I'm gonna stop here cuz I don't feel like this turning into that thread again. ;)

p5150, Ced has got it right on the head... you trashed 7m's and that just wasn't fair. BUT you did back up your reasoning on the 2jz very well so it was apparent you did your research on both motors.
And i wont say anymore because i don't want this turning it into one of those threads.

7M is fine, 1J is fine, 2J is fine, FFS the damn 1G is fine!

not many motors out there can do double stock horsepower on stock internals, not to mention the mind blowing durability of the 2J...

there is a reason MKIV's are legends, and it's the motor...
