First of all, I would like to thank the owner of the two vettes for having the balls to race a little 2.5 liter riceburner.

The first race was against a red 1998 C5 corvette. I ran him on my lower boost setting because I wasn't expecting anyone to pull up beside me and want to race. I normally drive my car around with my AVC-R set to 1bar which I think is 15 psi. Anyways he pulled up beside me while I was driving towards my brothers house. I see him coming up and I get a little excited with anticipation, but usually I'm let down because they won't even look over at me. This time it was different. He gets beside me and gears down...............:evil2: . This is one gorgeous car. It is the brightest red you've ever seen and it looks and sounds awesome. I lower my car from fifth to third and tell him to go, by waving my finger forward. He kicks it and I wasn't turning enough rpms for my turbo to like it. He jumps out hard about two car lengths, but I feel my car gaining quick. I pulled up even with him before I even went into fourth. I shifted into fourth at 7000rpm and was pulling him hard when he let off. I had him by about two car lengths when he quit, but it was getting worse and he knew it. He pulled up beside me and grinned a little and motioned to do it again. This time I was ready for him and made him speed up just a little before he kicked it. We started even with him getting me maybe half a car before I spooled up good, but I made up the ground fast and it was just like the first race. I pulled him pretty easily and he gave up right after I went into fourth. We pulled over and he was pretty cool about the whole thing. He admitted that he thought he would spank me and was shocked that it was a 2.5 liter that had handed him his ass...............:biglaugh:

The second race was with a silver C4 and if it had been a fight, someone would have stopped it................:evil2:
He cheated both times by kicking it before I even got within a car length of him, but it wasn't near enough. Same lower boost settings, same results but worse. His car was slow but you could still see that he expected to win. His eyes were as big as saucers as I flew by him.....................:aigo:

Sorry for the long posts, but just had a few minutes to KILL.

comon jay.. you should of maned up and dropped it in 2nd on him.. lol i mean hell 2nd at 7600 is like 80 mph.. so unless you were on the highway (doesn't sound like it) throw it in 2nd.. 40-50 is a dead spot on my mk3 singled 1jzs though :( at least mine.. too low in 2nd for boost and too high in 1st (@ 40)

Two more notches on your belt eh Jay?
Don't tell Vixen ;).

Yeah, I'll take these kills for sure. I knew I would outrun the silver one since I had already outran the red one, unless he had it built, but I was willing to risk it.................:biglaugh:

I was on the highway, but it wasn't an interstate. My speedometer also quit working last weekend so I don't know how fast I was going, but I would guess around sixty when he gunned it. I know I was at about 3500rpm and would have rather been at 4000, but it only took a second or two longer. I'm not really good at dropping it into second while driving down the highway. I get a little queezy just thinking about it................:biglaugh:

Nice kills, SH!

Your C5 race sounded very much like mine...

I don't know if I got to read about yours or not, but I would like to race him again with my boost controller on 20psi instead of the fifteen. I would really like to show him what it could do with five more pounds of boost.

Thank you sir.

I don't think they'll be underestimating a toyota supra anytime soon.

good kills! now what im interested about is if the c5 was a 400hp z06 or just a regular C5 with around 350...the only real way to tell is the shape of the car and emblems. Regular C5s are fast, as my mom owns an 02.

It is a regular C5. My brother has one too and it dynod at 301rwhp before he swapped out the air intake. He bought some high dollar intake that removes the small vents in the bottom of the valance and lets more air into the intake. He hasn't had it dyno'd lately. When I ride with him, I feel like there's no way I would ever be able to outrun him, but I have.

Ricer old man!

You're only as old as you feel. I've got a tball game to coach tonight and then Im playing in a softball game later tonight at 8:30. I don't have time to get old right now. I'll have to wait until later on in my life to get old............:biglaugh:

That was pretty good Nick. What site is that from? I figured it was a MKIV supra by his name and the t66 but I was still hoping it would be MKIII.

I"ve never seen Mattjk's in person, but from the pictures I would say it was close. This paint is alot newer than Matt's though. I love Matt's paint and his car and would rather have it than the corvette I raced, but his car was pretty.

Vette owners are kinda funny...just cruise around mostly.

I nailed a yellow C6 Vette two days ago coming back from FedEx. Pulled up next to me at a red light...clear road ahead. He gunned it and caught me off guard...I had my boost set at 12 psi...he pulled almost 2 car lengths before it kicked in. After a block or so, I had him by a half length ;)

He let off...had this confused look on his face...lol.

Cool beans, Jay. We need some video of your car on the road, not just the dyno. :)

I'll see what I can do about that Joe....................:icon_bigg

Jdub, I haven't had the chance to race a C6 yet, but there are two z06's in Sumiton where I live. I doubt they'll race because they're older, but who knows? I'm sure they would spank me, but I'm willing to give them that opportunity. I can't race anyone from a dead stop. My car spins too bad in first and second. I don't mind going from a second gear run say at about 40mph though.

well i believe the c5 z06 is a low 12 sec, LATE 11 sec car factory, and a C6 z06 is around the same but in the mid 11 range. Freeway pull is pretty much your best chance.
