I just got a turbo from a partout that still has the stock elbow on it. Any suggestions to getting it off? It seems like the gasket has it rusted on. Here is a picture of the two surfaces mated together. Is it worth trying some liquid wrench?

I had to use a blow torch, hammer and pry bar to get mine off. It took me and my Dad the better part of a day. Don't be afraid to smack, like everyone is saying! ;)

I'd stop trying to beat a screwdriver or whatever into it. Don't damage the turbo! Beat the hell out of the elbow if you need to, you won't lose much. Soak it in PB over night, and BFH it, or pull with a pry bar. I've been there too. It will come off.

Please explain this whole post a little better. I'm assuming the whole thing fell off of the manifold. Did falling beat the shit out of it, or did you beat the shit out of it? Or, was that just a plan of action or a question?
