Steve: LMAO not to mention you'd need a 2nd 7M to spool it!

Jon: It's early morning here! 8:30am

Yep that sounds more like what I'm used to when looking at diesels turbos!

Wonder why Holset do it this way?

I think holset found out long ago that if you balance the turbo you get nice response.

Alot of the garrett diesel turbos are designed to say "online" longer without changing RPMS.

8am what day?

IJ: Well had a wastegate issue on my turbo, so I replaced it.

Working great, took the thing out for a drive. Hitting full boost by 2500rpm like I remember yada yada yada.

Comming back to the house.. WHAM! SCCREEEEECH.

WTF?

Turned the car off roll into the drive way.... can't find any thing. Poke around some more. Found the snap ring off the back of the compressor housing SNAPPED!!! The compressor housing had litterally been blown off. My compressor wheel was folded like a pretzle.

Jon: :(

Steve: I considered doing it as a twin 3540R setup but management becomes a bit of an issue but I guess batch fire on the ignition isn't too much of a compromise!

They're a beautiful motor!
