IJ. said:
Joel: I don't think that's a 50 trim ;)!

Sounds MUCH larger!

It might be a 50 trim but with bigger IN and EX sizes which would explain the difference in power you describe! ie: A much Bigger Comp wheel.

didnt see this last part before. i was told there was no point in changing the exhaust side of the turbo till like 450-500hp so that exhaust wheel was left alone, they used my old shaft... does that help? hahhaha :dunno:

LOL what I meant is to get the 40% increase in flow with a 50 trim it has to be a BIG wheel on the compressor side!

Just curious how big and to see what it takes say per 10% increase in flow = xx bigger diameter! ;)

man i feel bad now, ive made several post to ppl saying i love my 50trim lol

sry ppl. yes, it was bigger than i expected when i installed it. It went from being able to break the tires loose at 30mph in second in rain to 50+mph in 3rd with just the gas pedal...

edited new 235x55x16'? toyos

ya im trying to understand ya. but im just slow i guess, sorry, ill pull it apart tomarrow just for the hell of in now.. the front diameter is the IN side, back larger diam, is the Ex side of the compressor wheel. i still missing something, gotta re ead here.. ahhahhaha

what your saying sounds to me like: IF i was to keep the same trim with the small dia being half inch larger than stock , the back size of the wheel would have to be half inch smaller and still be a 50. trim i think i got it..

AM: You just measure across the blades.

Joel: No the 50 trim is just the relationship of big to small.

You could have a 1/2" bigger big and 1/2" bigger small and it would still be 50 trim!

yeah thats what i tried to say but it got complicated..

ninja, i dont think the back is any smaller then they would have had to add compressor housing matirial? instead they remove alot inside all the way to the big side..

BIG EDIT HERE>> dis reguard the above statement as i was not understanding..but now i get it.. CLICK... now i understand...:evil2:

Sooo...IJ,,, hahaha it looks like the small side is 2.25 and the bigger is 3" ... so it is a 50 trim... and its 1/2 inch bigger than the stock wheel size..
someone sent me a PM and said he got the same upgrade from the same company that i got mine from (PT) and he thought it was 17% more air flow than stock.. but im obviously not sure on the math..

i was told it was a 50 trim... hahahha but they also said it was 40% more air flow..

edited, but again i thought trim was the size, not the ratio between the diameter of the big and small measurments of the wheel..

edited again,, and i was wrong... ;)

LOL this is what I meant in another thread when I said it's important to find out exactly what size wheels are in a turbo when you buy it!

You could have a 50 trim on a slightly larger wheel than stock and then you have your 50 trim on a 3" wheel whick will flow a pile more!

I can understand why Jake is confused buying his new Turbo!
