Hey everyone,

I did a search for Toyota Racing Development but didn't find what I was looking for.

I have an 87 non turbo and I want to put all new, all around suspension by the end of summer. I was hoping for TRD but I don't know where to find parts by them. If TRD isn't the answer, fill me in with whats best.

Later,
Larry

ok thanks, I'll check them out in a second.

the thing is, i don't know what i'm looking for, and I don't know whats good. I'm going to be making pretty good money throughout the summer where I can dump 3/4 of my paycheck into new stuff. I mostly like driving on back country roads (fast), so i want a set-up based on that.

any help or points in the right direction would be great.

If you like driving fast on back contry roads fast then you are going to want to stay away from overly stiff springs. You might want to look into eibachs and a nice set of adjustable shocks

I love back country roads that are twisty. I have Eibach Prokit and Tokico Blue struts. I love them, I hope to get sway bars soon.

And when ever the energy bushing kit is official, I'll be picking up a set real soon.

Maybe I'm the only one who hates the Eibach pro kit. :( Bleh.

I don't like them either, but my reasons aren't really based on handling (They seemed to handle pretty well for just lowering springs). I hate the weird slant they give the car by lowering the front more than the back and it's pretty annoying driving around where I live with a lowered car. I think I saw some spring rates listed from an unknown source and the eibachs were actually less stiff than stock springs o_O

Eibach's are intended for street driving since they are progressive... and they are pretty good for it IMO. If your looking for the best spring to race on they are not it. If I could go back and try a different spring I would have tried ST's though. Eibach's made my car pretty low so I can't complain about that.

that's weird, i always heard good things about eibachs. what's your choice shaeff?

Heh, that does seem true. I guess I never actually purchased the eibachs myself so I don't have any reason to want to like them because I spent the money for them. They did ride fine and handle pretty well for general driving but I didn't like the uneven lowering and the lowering in general...

After seeing a list of aftermarket and stock springs and taking into account the inconvenience of ride height I might just go get some nice bilstein shocks and keep the stock springs with my new shell.

Ehh, I bought my car with blown shocks, drove like that for a month then bought my set-up. So I can't complain about the handling, but I'm not happy with the stance, I wish it was lower.

I know I lean towards what I have already bought before. That's why I want a 40 series Flowmaster for my custom exhaust for the supra.

Well, I want to get 17" rims with a nice setup on tires (not sure yet), and I know I want fatter tires in the rear. I'm looking for high quality strut/coilovers (I want it as a complete kit) for driving on back country roads. I saw a HKS kit that looked pretty good. I'd like to drop the car and inch if I have room.

I love my (discontinued) TRD springs and Tokico blues.

As for TRD, I don't believe anything is available any longer except oil filters, oil filler cap, shift knob and mabey a radiator cap. They did make some cool stuff a while back. I managed to get the TRD springs, SS brake lines and front pads before they were discontinued. Most of the time, TRD is just re-badged/re-boxed performance parts (Goodridge/Eibach/Performance Friction/Eaton).
