I love my (discontinued) TRD springs and Tokico blues.

As for TRD, I don't believe anything is available any longer except oil filters, oil filler cap, shift knob and mabey a radiator cap. They did make some cool stuff a while back. I managed to get the TRD springs, SS brake lines and front pads before they were discontinued. Most of the time, TRD is just re-badged/re-boxed performance parts (Goodridge/Eibach/Performance Friction/Eaton).

close but more like: Denso, KYB, Exedy, Brembo, Tanabe, Cusco and the list goes on.

Eibachs are far from the best spring on the market but I they are a good street spring. I know If PA backroads are any thing like Va backroads then anything stiffer then stock is goiong to beat you to death if you drive with any kind of speed but If they roads are in fair condition then I would suggest tanabe gf210 springs, lower the car about 1" (I have pics in the product review threads)I love them execpt on very ruff patches of back country roads like i live on lol

Maybe I'm the only one who hates the Eibach pro kit. :( Bleh.

The only things that I like about them are that they drop the car and that the car still squats when it launches.

I just hate the progressively wound spring as a whole. I like twitchy handling, but I went off of other's reviews, several years ago when I bought them. If only I knew then what I know now...

Currently, my choice is custom coilovers. (Which I will be having Tim at T.I.P. engineering build for me)

Actually they do.. TRD cams were made by HKS. Rebrand doesnt mean they stick their name on something thats already marked, sometimes its just their name but you can always bet on the fact thats its made by someone else. However it is usually a specialty product thats not available through the company who manufactured it.

Interesting. But I am not so sure because my specs are not the same as the specs that I have read that the HKS cams have. However, it is possible that HKS made cams for TRD at different specifications.

Where did you read that HKS made the TRD cams? Did you speak with someone before about them? I am interested in learning more about these old school parts.

OT: yes a friend of mine at a shop had a pair and the box that said TRD had HKS written in tiny letters. They however may not be the sole manufacturer of TRD cams obviously, but AFAIK..

its hard as hell to find anyone, let alone a japanese person that can distinguish or tell you about the cool ass old school parts. the guys that used to tune the mk3 and r31/32 skylines, z31's are all fairly old at this point.

there are some movies you should see from japan about the racing scene back then and how much better IMO it was than today. racing was an entirely different thing and not a whole lot of people were doing it, neat stuff really.

I've noticed that it seems like there are way more TRD parts and other rare parts made for the hachi roku and old chasers, but in reality its probably more apt to think they weren't ever as popular as the supra and probably pricey therefore why so many more of them are left over or mint these days.

That and like I said the mk3 fell into a strange period in japan where only a few select companies were actually making peformance parts on a large scale, HKS, Trust and maybe a handful of others, next to nothing.. If you owned a car that wasn't decent popular good luck, thankfully the a70 had a pretty nice following right behind the old school skylines and the like.

history is such an amazing thing, wish I could go back and drive around a '90 jza70 around the wangan the day it came out til the end of time it seems. give just about anything for that feeling..

You are right about it being hard to find anyone who modified the MK3 from the beginning. The guy I got the cams from was straight Japanese and did not want to speak English so it was hard to get any information out of him. Plus, he was pretty shady and I think he just wanted to do business and be done with me.
