Pilot bearing: Find something solid that fits the I.D. of the bearing perfectly. Pack the inside of the bearing with grease until you can't fit any more in there. Take the instrument you chose that fits the ID of the bearing, and insert it into the center. Hammer it in and watch the bearing get pushed out by the displacement of grease. Remove instrument, re-pack with grease to make up for lost volume due to bearing coming out, repeat.
Throw out bearing: Quit being a cheapass and buy a pair of snap-ring pliers. Trust me, it's so much easier than fucking with eight screwdrivers, two pairs of pliers, and two people. Plus the hazard of getting that fucking snap ring shot into your skull is far less probable.
have fun, boris. i wish you and kyle the best of luck.
::edit:: you fail at thread titling, btw.
