Yeah..you do not want to order from any dealer in the bay area. Hayward Toyota was rated as most expensive. Someone on Supraforums did a survey off all the dealers around here and there was a lot of price difference...and all of their markups were huge.

I worked in a parts department for a while, so I know a bit of the story. Most places that use Reynolds & Reynolds software for parts/service/sales have 3 levels of pricing for parts.

First, there's dealer cost. Only by working at the dealership will you ever know their cost. Then, you have list price. That's a good starting point to sell stuff, and with a reasonable (around 20-25%) profit margin. Then, you have MATRIX pricing. No, not Keanu Reeves selling you parts, just a really outrageous (sometimes) price for parts where the dealership makes over 50% off your ass.

Sometimes, they're greedy, and they quote matrixed pricing. They may find a "sweet spot" in between where they sell, too. It's all about who you deal with.

how about 660$ for a power steering hard line VS. 85$ shipped for a new one from tubbie!

LOl....thats almost half the price of my Supra when I bought it...even though it had a electrical problem...But $660 for a PS line...
Should have told them to "go choke on a dick".

Cheers,
Roy

I've bought from Champion and I've bought from my local dealer. I would definetely buy from Champion again and will definetely NOT buy from my local dealer again. Unless you need the parts ASAP Champion is the way to go, you will get the best prices.

I bought a 1JZ gasket set from Champion... I couldn't compare that to my local dealer though. They wouldn't even know what the hell that is.
